"GIRLPOWER"
Breeding is about making a mare line. We are proud of Spotilas as the father of these very young mares, and we wonder what the future brings - some will be riding horses, some breeding mares, and most of them probably both..
Right now they are just enjoying their "foalhood" and we are enjoying them. We have knowledge about what suits the Totilas blood from the Olympics and major championships, that is a great base for the next generation!
We also know how Spotilas gives a certain mindset and intelligence, and how they connect to their owner. These lovely foals will be a true friend to their humans ☺️

SPOTILAS in HORSEMAIL.FI

If you live in Finland you are familiar with horse-journalist Margit Ticklen. Along with a lot of other horse people around Europe, we have also been lucky to meet Margit. As we say, Margit is first with the news! Let me explain that, because that is actually a fun story!

Back in 2017 Margit contacted Bjørn. She would like to write an article about Bjørns foalalarm system “SafeMate”. Margit filmed a little video sequence of our mares on the field. It was a bit difficult for Margit to film - because one of our mares kept going in front of the camera and keeping away the other mares, trying to keep all the attention to herself. That mare was Luna – Spotilas´mother. Margit asked about this leading mare, and Bjørn told Margit that we had a plan to get Luna in foal with Totilas. So yes Margit was the very very first who could tell the news about Spotilas 2 years before his birth!

8 years later Bjørn and Margit met once again, this time making an interview about 6 years old Spotilas. Well, a lot has happened since, and if you have a subscription to horsemail.fi you can read a lot about Spotilas´s journey, and Anders Hoeck and our planes for the future.

IT IS FOAL SEASON!

On our pastures Hotdance, F***g and Luna are walking around with bellies that looks like bombs to explode anytime. The mares looks somewhat troubled, and when doing their beloved rolling it is extra hard to get ALL the way over. But – horses are horses, so when they are let out on the spring grass they still are going for a flashy trot. Perhaps a bit less elegant than we are used to, and certainly shorter... The appetite has not lessened, it is almost like an old-fashioned typewriter; bite bite bite – new line – bite bite bite, highly concentrated like a JK Rowling we imagine! The grass is magically transformed into milk, filling the milkbar – ready for a demanding foal.
The far majority foals at night, so we have the alarms mounted. The receiver is calmly waiting on the bedside table, ready to wake us anytime (must be a fun job). Will it be tonight?

Luna of Nyskoven (Bjoernhoejgaards Sleipner - Rasmus af Hallundbaek):
2025 - Foal out of Hesselhoej Double Up
2026 - Luna has returned to breeders Ellen & Karsten Andersen.

Lady Gaga (Zack - Don Schufro):
2026 - foal out of Spotilas

Furthermore our mare Cassidy Boesgaard (Casir - Corlando) has been inseminated with Spotilas, she is borrowed by Ole Iversen, who will welcome a Spotilas foal with strong showjumping bloodlines in 2026.
