It's a great privilege to, over the years, teach so many students of different nationalities, religions, cultures, traditions. I always get to learn so much, even though I'm the instructor. It gives me great joy that learning goes both ways in every class.

Sometimes we barely even have a mutual language other than the language of dance, the language of movement, joy, rhythm and art in community. I love providing a space and time every week where everything feels right, where we can leave the world behind, and our collective heartbreaks can find relief for at least that hour.

And there, we all smile in the same language.

If only the whole world could be a dance floor. I try to believe it can be, because people can be so breathtakingly good. It's in our nature to move together. I've seen it, first hand, countless times in my life as an artist.

I really believe that, as Josh Johnson says, "art can save your life."

This week and next week are our short and sweet 2-class semester. Be sure to enroll at the link below (there's still space). These are beginner friendly follow-the-leader lessons to get us moving into the new year.

If you just can't get enough shimmy time, the long semester begins several weeks later where we go more in depth with technique and build our toolboxes. All levels, bodies, and abilities are welcome for this as well.

A much latergram from the stellar Halloween party at . (Because, in my heart, all of October and November are Halloween.) 🎃

Enormous thanks to those who shared the pictures and videos ( and ) and a very grateful hug to my little/big brother from another mother, for being my impromptu sound and light guy, stagehand and all-around hype man. And thank you Escobar folk for coming up with the most stellar costumes and loudest applause for the spells I cast. 🧙‍♀️ ✨️ Our weirdo joy is the light of my life.
