Herren WM 2023 in San Diego

Am Montag hat World Lacrosse bekanntgegeben, dass die Herren Feld WM 2023 in San Diego und damit zum ersten Mal in Kalifornien stattfinden wird. Austragungsort soll u.a. das neue Snapdragon-Stadium der San Diego State University mit 35.000 Plätzen sein.

On Monday, World Lacrosse announced that the 2023 Men's Field World Cup will be held in San Diego, the first time it will be held in California. The venue will include San Diego State University's new 35,000-seat Snapdragon Stadium.

🇩🇪🥍European Qualifiers 2022 – ohne Deutschland?

Vom 11.-16. April 2022 finden in Polen die European Men’s Qualifiers in Polen statt. Deutschland nimmt nicht teil – bedeutet das nun eine verspielte Chance auf die Teilnahme an der nächsten Weltmeisterschaft? Nein! Im Normalfall ist die Europameisterschaft auch das Qualifikationsturnier für die WM. Durch die Corona-Pandemie wurde die Europameisterschaft 2020 zuerst auf 2021 verlegt und dann abgesagt. Um aber nun die Teilnehmer der nächsten Weltmeisterschaft bestimmen zu können muss die European Lacrosse Federation ein Qualifikationsturnier spielen, die European Qualifiers. Dabei handelt es ausschließlich um ein Qualifikationsturnier, nicht um eine Europameisterschaft. Aufgrund der letzten WM-Platzierung ist die deutsche Herren-Nationalmannschaft bereits automatisch für die nächste WM qualifiziert und nimmt daher nicht am Qualifikationsturnier teil. Dieses Szenario trifft neben Deutschland auch auf England, Israel, Schottland und Irland zu.

From April 11th-16th, 2022, the European Men’s Qualifiers will take place in Poland. Germany does not take part - does that mean a wasted chance to participate in the next World Cup? No! Normally the European Championships are also the qualifying tournament for the World Cup. Due to the corona pandemic, the 2020 European Championship was first postponed to 2021 and then canceled. But in order to be able to determine the participants of the next World Cup, the European Lacrosse Federation has to play a qualifying tournament, the European Qualifiers. This is exclusively a qualifying tournament, not a European championship. Due to the last World Cup placement, the German men's national team is already automatically qualified for the next World Cup and therefore does not take part in the qualifying tournament. In addition to Germany, this scenario also applies to England, Israel, Scotland and Ireland.
