15 YEARS OF 8BAR.
03 / FIXED ALPCROSS.
4 RIDERS. 4 DAYS. 400 KM. 4,000 METRES OF CLIMBING.
Across the Alps. On fixed gear bikes.
In the summer of 2012, just one year after 8bar began, Jens, Max, Björn and Stefan set out to take their bikes far beyond the streets of Berlin.
Starting in Mittenwald, Germany, they rode through Austria and crossed the Alps to Lake Garda in Italy. One gear each, for every climb and every descent. And with a fixed drivetrain, going downhill meant keeping those legs turning, too.
MY LEGS ARE MY GEARS.
Quite literally.
The Fixed Alpcross captured so much of what brought us together in the first place: friends, bikes and the curiosity to find out how far an idea could take us.
Looking back fifteen years into our story, this adventure still holds a special place.
Would you cross the Alps on a fixed gear bike? Tag the friend you’d take along. 🖤
ar story. More dirt, more mud and plenty of reasons to come home with a grin.
Who remembers this one? Would you take on the trails with just one gear? 🖤
