So why are there no posts for such a long time??
I think (hope) many of you have asked this question.
What I am trying to do here is promote the shooting sport with big bore airguns to such an extent that we will get official disciplines for these guns throughout Europe, starting in Germany. But promoting without posts doesn’t feel right, does it?
Fact is, that worldwide, people are concentrating on other things than airguns. Corona has taken over the thoughts and feelings from more than 80% of all people.
Furthermore, shooting clubs throughout Europe are closed and associations are up to their ears in trying to get some sort of normality in it all, saving as much as possible of their sport agenda without meeting anyone.
The last thing they need now is someone nagging them about creating a new discipline, which is hard enough in normal times and near impossible when everyone is in lockdown mode.
Under these circumstances, there simply is not much to tell about progress in the goals of Big Bore Airgun Club.
Of course, there are things to post. But to be honest, the corona panic situation got hold of me as well, so both in private life as well as professional there have been so many things going on that I hardly found time to look for interesting material, let alone create some myself.
Speaking of which: as long as all shooting clubs are closed, there is hardly any possibility for making pictures or a video of my own guns. Just not really interesting if you can’t shoot them.
But there is light at the end of the tunnel.
With spring coming soon, the infection numbers will go down and politicians everywhere will believe their vaccinations are finally helping to “defeat” the virus. And with that, lockdowns will be over (at least for the summer) and things will return to some sort of normal again.
Which means that with my airguns finally on my gun license, and therefore legal in Germany, I can start introducing some of the association members to big bore airguns and maybe even start organising a demo contest together with some Dutch air gunners.
So be patient and stay tuned. There is a mighty long way to go, but it is going to be interesting. With lots of cool guns along the way.
