🥾 Sponsored Hike to Pendling (1,563 m)

On February 22, we laced up for a special sponsored hike powered by Jack Wolfskin, with the stunning Pendling (1,563 m) in Austria as our goal. 🇦🇹⛰️

Twelve hiking buddies from India, Germany, Greece, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Italy, and Czechia — plus one enthusiastic four-legged companion 🐕 — gathered despite the weather’s moody start.

A light drizzle accompanied our first steps, but spirits were high as the group received amazing goodies from Jack Wolfskin before heading uphill together. 🎒

What began under grey skies quickly turned into a day full of laughter, teamwork, and breathtaking alpine views.

At the top, we celebrated a birthday at the cozy Pendlinghaus, making the summit moment even more special. 🎂🏔️

After soaking in the views, we descended to Kala Alm for a well-deserved lunch. 🍽️

But the adventure didn’t end there…
From Kala Alm, we swapped hiking for sledging 🛷 and raced our way down — wrapping up the day with pure joy and unforgettable memories.

Great news for Hiking Buddies 🏔️

We’re happy to welcome Jack Wolfskin as an official partner!

We’ve got a few projects and adventures ahead, all rooted in what brings us together: time outdoors, shared trails, and good company 🌿🥾

A small teaser already: we’ll be part of the 2026 Wolf Trail for several days, with a mix of camping, hiking, bootcamps, and social moments.

Hiking Buddies Zürich on

Ventured into the winter chill with Hiking Buddies Zürich for a short adventure near Fluelen, Uri! 🏞️❄️ We were a diverse group of 8 buddies, representing 5 different nationalities. The sun was shining, but the air was crisp, with lingering snow patches creating a picturesque landscape. After an invigorating hike, the BBQ warmed us up, and we capped it off with a refreshing swim. 🌭🏊‍♂️ Connecting with nature and making new friends – the perfect blend of adventure and camaraderie! 🥾🌍

"I am a hiking boomerang… I grew up in France in the Alps, and used to go for hikes frequently. I then lost touch with hiking and it's only recently that I started again as I have a bit more free time.

I found the Hiking Buddies Zurich community on Facebook and thought it would be a great way to meet other hikers and get the motivation and the ideas for cool hikes.

This month’s Arc’teryx sponsored hike was another one for the books.

“The conditions were great. We drove down to the Mieminger Alps in Austria and did a 6h walk to a mountain called Simmering, from which there is a beautiful view of the Mieminger chain, Stubai and Ötztaler alps. The group was small and quite diverse with nationalities coming from Germany, India, Iran, Nepal, Egypt, Canada, Scotland and Kyrgyzstan. We even managed to do some sledding. It was a great day!”

Die von Arc'teryx gesponserte Wanderung im März war wieder eine echte Bereicherung.

"Die Bedingungen waren großartig. Wir sind in die Mieminger Alpen in Österreich gefahren und haben eine 6-stündige Wanderung auf den Simmering gemacht, von dem aus man eine wunderschöne Aussicht auf die Mieminger Kette, die Stubaier und die Ötztaler Alpen hat. Die Gruppe war klein und sehr gemischt. Mit dabei waren Hiking Buddies aus Deutschland, Indien, Iran, Nepal, Ägypten, Kanada, Schottland und Kirgisistan. Wir konnten sogar Schlittenfahren. Es war ein toller Tag!"
