Good memories of our time we spent on the Maunsell Sea Forts. We stayed inside these giant rusty forts for about a week. At night we used to hang out on top of them, have a little barbecue, chill in hammocks or juggle with light-balls before some of us would go to bed in the spaceline tent. In the morning before we got ourselves on the lines we had pancakes and of course good British tea.

Thanks a lot for making it happen:

Today, India celebrates its' 75 years' anniversary of Independence. "Walk of Courage" honors this milestone in history, besides being a dynamic & atmospheric portrait of the bustling city of New Delhi & its people.

Sunrise over Chandni Chowk - a young girl, a group of slackliners, and an ambassador make their way through the city of New Delhi. Their paths will meet at a highline & cultural event at the historic Red Fort, commemorating India’s 75 years of independence. As the athletes make their way across the line, they demonstrate that every journey begins with that first brave step. Be it the life of an individual or the path of a nation - we are all on a Walk of Courage.

On November 30th 2022 Alexander Schulz Slackliner walked a 1712m long slackline over Canyon del Sumidero - blindfolded. It took him 75min minutes and ~5000 steps to cross the 800m high line.
This project has been planned for over two years. Setting up & walking such monster lines is a community effort for sure. Rigging was done by 4 Germans & 4 Mexicans, of those bigline experts Moises Monterrubio Daniel Monterrubio as well as our friends Andrea DattoLi, Clemens Augustin, Luis Depping & Sebastian Nava were all essential. Alejandro Llorens also did the crucial job of flying the connection successfully across with his drone.

Huge shoutout to Altius for making this project possible, the state of Chiapas for having us & Olszewski for capturing priceless memories in this cinematic clip.

Thanks to our partners Stubai, Evoc, Balance Community, Michael Radeck and most important Atlas Lens Co for their amazing support!

Special thanks to:
- Andres Valencia, Ernesto Rivas & Mariana Guzman for following the idea till the end!

Alex thoughts about the sent: half of the village was there to watch. It was a very chill mood, I also had time for a deeply relaxing Yoga sess before the Governor wished me Felicidades over the radio. I was incredible excited - my heart was pounding fast when I stood up & the first meters were tough, but I also felt the energy of around 300 locals and my friends helped me push through the pressure. I had tried to make perfect sending conditions, but there was still one 50m long section of the line about 400m away from the starting anchor that still had a tight backup. After passing that, I could finally relax a bit more & rest my arms sometimes. I still played it safe by keeping lots of body tension safe and counting my steps (120 per 50m section, so ~4000 steps in total). I really didn't want to slip on one of the 27 connections... however I nearly did when the governor announced via speaker that I have passed 1200m which was the old record. 90% of my concentration was focussed on walking (breathe, relax, counting...). But I also really wondered how the sourrounding looked, as I had started in very foggy conditions. It turned out I appeared out of a cloud and arrived in sunshine. On the last meters I felt like nothing could stop me now. Happiness & deep sensation of relief rushed through me when I pulled the blindfold of my face & walked until the very edge. The governor of Chiapas awaited me with his congratulations & everyone shared the same feelings of joy, relief & excitement. I was tired but also pushed at the same time. It was hard to believe that we as a team had really made it!

The longest line I had set a foot on before this project was just 800m long and I haven't sent this 1712m one with open eyes.

thanks to for bringing this project to live and to
(C) Altius

The past two weeks have been a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Sleepless nights of stress, excitement, fears and doubts, throwbacks and again sleepless nights… But today in the morning we completed a project that we had planned together with Altius for nearly two years. Alexander Schulz Slackliner walked blindfolded across the Cañón del Sumidero in the wonderful state of Mexico Sectur Chiapas.

The line was 1712 meters long and 800 meters high. He broke the world record of the longest slackline ever walked blindfolded. The walk took him 1.22h. The story of the project is an endless saga of crazy logistics, thoughtful and clever rigging, preparation, communication and most of all a story of team effort! Full story of the project soon. There is so much to tell…

Thank you for your trust and your incredible work to create this project. Thanks for working day and night to make it happen!

Thank you for your patience and your energy Andres,
thank you for the endless talks and the stoke on location Mariana
Thank you Alex Lorens for your drone skills to fly the connection across.

Andrea DattoLi Moises Monterrubio, Sebastian Daniel Monterrubio. Without you this project would not have been possible and we can not thank you enough for your help, your stunning rigging expertise, your understanding and most of all for your stoke and slacklife spirit!

Thanks to the local community, the mexican highliners and specifically to

roaro

To all future projects!

Thanks to Zenith for bringing a beautiful piece of narration to live that will represent the project’s soul.
