Neues Jahr, neue Bastelprojekte: Im Frühling ziehen bei uns Hasen, Hühner und natürlich jede Menge bunte Eier ein. In allen Formen, Farben und Materialien: Mini Upcycling Projekte, verschönerte Naturfunde und simple Osterbasteleien aus Papier und Pappe stehen bei uns an bis zu den Osterferien.

Heute ging’s mit den ersten Hasen und bunten Eiern los.

I thought of you with love today, but that’s nothing new. I thought about you yesterday and the days before that too.

I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are my memories and your picture in a frame.

Your memory is my keepsake, with which I’ll never part. I’m wearing your knitted hat with pride. God has you in his keeping, I have you in my heart and on my head. ❤️

As some point if you’ve been on the road for a while, you’ll need to visit your hometown. This isn’t always an easy process, with reverse culture shock (yes, it’s a real thing), dealing with evolving (sometimes dissolving) friendships, and an often over-full schedule of things to do and people to see.

See, your hometown family and friends are (usually) the people you’ve known longest in life. As such, they can be a great contextual baseline for how you’ve changed and grown as a result of your travels. And because of the gaps in time between visits, changes are more evident and observable.

For me, not only can I see and honour how my own family and lifelong friends and have changed and grown over the years (and often in surprisingly similar ways to me, despite a world of distance – physically and otherwise – between us), but I can also see reflected in them (and through their feedback) how I myself have changed and grown. It’s a great barometer for your life, and helps you make sure you’re on the path you want to be on.

The adventure continues…
Eine Nacht im Eis
Wie ist es nun also eine Nacht bei -5°C zu verbringen? Eigentlich ziemlich nett. Man schläft also auf einem Bett aus Eis, auf diesem liegt eine Matratze, darauf das obligatorische Rentierfell. Bis hierher ist man schon mal recht gut von der Kälte isoliert, aber natürlich bleibt die Luft kalt also muss noch ein Schlafsack her. Dieser wird inklusive eines baumwollenen Hygiene-Säckchen vom Hotel zur Verfügung gestellt.

Erstaunlich unkompliziert ließ sich diese Nacht verbringen, man sollte jedoch keine Platzangst haben, denn es ist dringend angeraten den Reißverschluss des Mumienschlafsacks auch wirklich bis oben hin zuzuziehen, da es sonst wirklich kalt wird.
