Slow-mo says OUT… so why did the umpire signal NOT OUT? 👀
Because the umpire didn’t have this replay.
In slow motion, with pause and zoom, it’s clear — the bat is short when the bails come off.
But live on the field?
No DRS.
No freeze frame.
No perfect angle.
Just the naked eye, one split-second decision.
And in cricket, there’s an important principle: if the umpire is not absolutely sure, the benefit of the doubt goes to the batsman.
The keeper was sharp.
The bat was short.
The replay proves it.
But at full speed, without technology, it wasn’t black and white enough to give OUT.
