R20 MGU AON Edition - Now Live // Together with GAMUX, PINION, GATES, HAYES, MANITOU and AON RACING, we’re proud to present the NICOLAI R20 MGU AON Edition today - a project that brings together different technologies, areas of expertise and experience.

The R20 MGU AON Edition started with a very specific idea: What happens when you equip a proper 200 mm downhill bike with an e-drive system so it can get back to the start of the next descent under its own power?

For the R20, the CNC-machined 7075 aluminium rear end, geometry and kinematics of the GAMUX Sego DH World Cup bike were carried over. NICOLAI developed a dedicated frame platform around the PINION MGU and GATES Belt Drive. Apart from a few system-specific adaptations, the exclusive spec follows the HAYES Group components used on the AON team bikes.

From tomorrow through Saturday, the R20 will make its first public appearance at the AON Racing team stand at the UCI Downhill World Cup in Les Gets.

🇩🇪 R20 MGU AON Edition - Jetzt Live // Zusammen mit GAMUX, PINION, GATES, HAYES, MANITOU und AON RACING präsentieren wir heute das NICOLAI R20 MGU AON Edition - ein Projekt, in dem unterschiedliche Technologien, Expertisen und Erfahrungen zusammengefunden haben.

Das R20 MGU AON Edition entstand aus einer sehr speziellen Idee: Was passiert, wenn man ein echtes 200 mm Downhill Bike mit einem E-System ausstattet, damit es aus eigener Kraft wieder zum Einstieg der nächsten Abfahrt kommt?

Für das R20 wurden das CNC-gefräste 7075 Aluminium-Heck, Geometrie und Kinematik des GAMUX Sego DH World Cup Bikes übernommen. NICOLAI entwickelte dazu eine eigenständige Rahmenplattform rund um die PINION MGU und den GATES Belt Drive. Die exklusive Ausstattung entspricht bis auf wenige systembedingte Anpassungen den HAYES Group Komponenten der AON-Team-Bikes.

Von morgen bis Samstag ist das R20 beim UCI Downhill World Cup in Les Gets erstmals live am Stand von AON Racing zu sehen.

Final Enduro World Cup Check-In With Vid Peršak // Heat, dust, loose tracks and more than 40 minutes of racing: the final UCI Enduro World Cup round in Morillon was a proper test for rider and equipment.

Vid Peršak delivered his strongest World Cup result of the season with P14 overall, including a Top 10 stage result.

At the previous round in Aletsch, he had already brought home P26 - despite a cracked rear wheel.

“The G1 GPI gave an impressive performance this year. With six World Cup races, some more races back home and all the training on a single frameset with no real issues, this is the best proof this bike can take a beating.”

🇩🇪 Finaler Enduro World Cup Check-In Mit Vid Peršak // Hitze, Staub, lose Bedingungen und mehr als 40 Minuten Rennzeit: Die finale Runde des UCI Enduro World Cup in Morillon war ein echter Test für Fahrer und Material.

Vid Peršak fuhr dort sein stärkstes World Cup Ergebnis der Saison ein: P14 Overall, inklusive eines Top-10-Stage-Results.

Beim vorherigen Lauf in Aletsch hatte er trotz gebrochenem Hinterrad noch P26 ins Ziel gebracht..

„Das G1 GPI hat dieses Jahr eine beeindruckende Leistung gezeigt. Sechs World-Cup-Rennen, dazu einige Rennen zu Hause und das komplette Training auf einem einzigen Frameset ohne echte Probleme – das ist der beste Beweis, dass dieses Bike einiges wegstecken kann.“
