DM 2019-Rams Jugend
The rams traveled to Mainz with high expectations for the 2019 DM. They wanted to follow-up on last year’s success and possible improvement for 2019.
As life is, sometimes we are schooled and have to learn the hard way that what we have accomplished at home is not always good enough for the next level.
The rams started out good in each game on the first day but were overwhelmed over the duration of the games and just could not get into any type of groove.
Needless to say we lost each division game and would only play for 7th / 8th place.
The placement game pitted us against a team (Bad Homburg Hornets) that had during their 2019 season the same success as the rams but also could not find their groove at the DM either.
The game itself pitted the Bad Homburg Hornets pitcher, a German National Team player and pitcher against our home grown pitcher with no National success or baseball camps under his wings.
It was a dual for the ages, David vs. Goliath! The unknown vs. the U15 2019 German European Team player/pitcher! And the Rams pitcher won this dual giving up no runs in the process!
The entire ram’s team stepped up in this game with hitting, defense and just good old baseball and outstanding pitching from start to finish.
This was one of the better games played during the DM even though it was only for 7th /8th place
As coaches we cannot ask for more from our players! They stepped up to the challenge and came out on top!
