Following our previous spring-kick-offs of collective green house cleaning, sh*t-shovelling and flower planting we will start our garden year with another Rise and Shine Garden Week. From Monday 13 - Friday 17 April we invite you to come and stay in exchange for supportive work in the garden and living spaces.

Rise and Shine Garden Week is a time to gather, reconnect and reimagine with old and new faces around Ponderosa², the garden, the studio and neighbouring areas. We will get our hands dirty and improvise together in the kitchen, garden and buildings. It will be fun and flexible – we will co-create the schedule so you also have time to enjoy the studios, library and outdoors. Magic happens when people come together in Stolzenhagen, and whilst we don’t have a set plan for the week we hope that collectively we can share morning practices, contact jams, authentic movement, karaoke and campfire singalongs.

Our Winter Bodies In Time And Space (20 – 22 February)

Stephanie Maher invites you to spend a weekend together, exploring Our Winter Bodies In Time And Space. Practice will include:

1. Silent meditation sessions
2. Open & solo movement practice
3 Boombox mantra singing
4. Kunda-disco …….dancing
5. No- dogma kundalini yoga
6. Talking a group walk

We will explore various kinds of sensory and physical knowledge and give attention to praying(sitting), walking, rolling and improvising. This includes a spiritual lingering and our honoring of our basic movement existence. The work is deeply imbedded in trusting the body and tacit knowledge. Being together, the doors are open, come early- come late this is part of our weekend social sculpture.

No-dogma kundalini yoga is giving awareness to forms that support us and our adherence or departure from that energetic investigation.

Join us for the weekend!

2025 moves us through into 2026

As the year comes softly to a close, we’re grateful for time shaped by coming together - through residencies, garden week, immersions, intensives, and open doors - each moment contributing to a living ecology of practice. Thank you for your presence, care, and commitment, and for making these gatherings what they were.

Looking ahead, we invite you to step out of daily rhythms and into shared time for movement, research, and being together. Read our latest newsletter (link in bio) for upcoming opportunities in 2026 to listen to the body, deepen practice, and let new work emerge in community. We are working on the rest of our programme and will be in touch with more soon!

Wish you dearly to have a lovely Solstice and Yule - catch you on the other side!

we are loverocks, a performance duo working with themes of extraction, visibilities of state violence , and intimacy. in our performances we work with dance, performance, and improvised text and singing. we’ve been making site specific performances while at BORDERLAND, including a site-specific cabaret and duets spilling onto the concrete, out of the concrete mixer. some of our inspirations are sophia rodriguez, paola di bella, dana michel, and minako seki.

In the first part of our residency, we worked with the theme of “seeing/unseeing” at the micro and macro level, questioning why the residency site can be so peaceful while police and border violence are actually so close by (and even constitute the possibility of the kulturpark in this form).

In the second part of the residency, we worked with fantasy and drama while continuing to be informed by the matter of the site itself. in our improvisations, singing, text, and dance all emerged as ways to sustain and transform our inner dramas — and in turn, our inner dramas were transformed by the environment until we were singing strange pop songs in the leftover umbrella trash.

Alma Häyhtiö and Iida Kukkonen are soon graduating dancer students from Riveria dance education, Outokumpu, Finland. They spent the last two weeks of October at Ponderosa as a part of their exchange period.

At Ponderosa they started a whole new artistic process with exploration of insects and spiders, especially flies, wasps, daddy-longlegs and beetles.

Their work based on the idea of ”getting back to bug body”: what does it mean and how does it feel to relate with own human structure to the nature of bugs, the jointy legs, spesific isolations and the rhythms of the manners which to human eye can look clumsy and comical.

Häyhtiö and Kukkonen played with score based improvisation to explore the personal metamorphosis and free the human body to be weird, q***r and to create and sense new ways of being by themselves and being in contact.

By getting back to bug body - getting back to nature - they want to embrace and love the unloved super important creatures and decrease the gap between human and bug world.

Ponderosa offered them nourishing work environment by it’s peacefulness, lovely community and rich nature full of bugs! 🪲🪰🕷️✨
