This week like every year is a tough week for our dance family in Germany.
Our military kids move onto their next adventure. Some get the chance to Irish dance again which means we may still meet them in this small Irish dance world. First up to leave this week is Hadley. Check out her story. ☘️🇮🇪🇩🇪. Hadley’s Journey with Sweeney Irish Dance
Hadley began her Irish dance journey in the summer of 2024, shortly after our family arrived in Germany. At the time, she had already explored a variety of activities—including ballet, gymnastics, soccer, cheerleading, softball, and cross country—but had yet to find something that truly captured her interest and inspired her to continue long-term.
By chance, we came across a Sweeney Irish Dance summer camp and signed her up for a one-week trial. Within just three days of dancing with Ms. Mary, Hadley was absolutely certain she wanted more. She insisted on completing the full summer camp, and by the end of it, she was begging to enroll in regular classes.
What started as a completely unexpected discovery quickly became her passion. Irish dance provided the perfect combination of challenge, growth, and community. Hadley loves learning new steps, developing her skills, and pushing herself at Feiseanna. While she enjoys the competitive aspect of dance, her true love is performing. She thrives on the excitement of sharing her hard work on stage and creating memories with her fellow dancers.
Some of her favorite moments have been celebrating St. Patrick’s Day and participating in céilís with her friends. The friendships, experiences, and opportunities she has gained through Sweeney Irish Dance have made a lasting impact on her.
As she moves on to her next chapter, Hadley will greatly miss her classmates and teachers. She is grateful for the encouragement, support, and joy they have brought into her life andhopes their paths will cross again in the future.
