Das reale 24er in Daytona war ein echter “nail biter” und genau diesen hatten auch wir bereits letzte Woche beim traditionellen iracing Official.
Pole, schnellste Rennrunde, P1 bis zum Ziel nicht eine Runde abgegeben, klingt im ersten Moment nach einem Spaziergang aber das war’s definitiv nicht!
Es war alles dabei, die ereignisfreien und souveränen Fahrten von Fabi und Nick aber auch jeweils einmal maximales Glück in den Stints von Alessandro und Simon.
Einer hatte mit einem kapitalen Freeze in Turn 1 zu kämpfen und der Andere mit den Folgen eines Missverständnisses anderer beim Anbremsen der Schikane.
Der Schaden war in beiden Fällen so gering, das wir extrem wenig Zeit verloren und die Führung behaupten konnten. Das war aber auch der Tatsache geschuldet, das unsere Kontrahenten mit ähnlicher Pace weitaus weniger Glück bei ihren Unfällen hatten und wir so schon früh einige Runden Vorsprung als Puffer verwalten konnten.
Stress ist, wenn es von Beginn an in Führung liegend immer nur darum geht schnell genug zu fahren damit keiner aufholt und gleichzeitig den „Koffer“ nicht abzulegen. 😵💫
Ende gut, alles mega … oder wie das auch immer heißt?!
Den Start/Ziel-Sieg nehmen wir sehr gerne mit, vor allem, weil es der Erste “ever” für Simon und Alessandro war!
Super Team, mega Rennen, wir freuen uns schon wieder auf das diesjährige Major LeMans, nur bitte mit weniger Regen! 😉

The real 24 Hours of Daytona was a mega nail biter and that's exactly what we had last week at the iracing Official.
Pole, fastest race lap, didn't give P1 a lap to others till the finish line, sounds like a walk at first but that's definitely not it!
It was all there, the flawless and confident stints of Fabi and Nick but also once each maximum luck in the stints of Alessandro and Simon.
One had to deal with a capital freeze in Turn 1 and the other with the consequences of a misunderstanding of others at the bus stop breaking zone.
The damage in both cases was so small that we lost extremely little time. Also due to the fact that our opponents with a similar pace had much less luck in their accidents. Therefore we’ve been able to manage a few laps of the lead as a buffer early on.
Real stress is when you are leading from the beginning on, with the need to go fast enough so that no one catches up and at the same time not to throw it into the wall.
End well, everything mega ... or whatever that is called?! Makes more sense in German?! 🤔
Nevertheless, we are delighted as he’ll to take the start/finish victory with us, especially because it was the first one ever for Simon and Alessandro! 🤩

We are already looking forward to this year's Major LeMans, but please with less rain last time! 😉
