LICOR BEIRAO EUROPEAN SERIES 2015

Licor Beirao Series is the chain of veteran rugby Mini – Festivals, Tournaments in Europe, sponsored by rugby family José Redondo (Portugal). Veteran clubs/teams are invited to join these Series by organizing the Event of their own and so to contribute to the development of Veteran sports in your Country.

14 was the result of club´s / team´s dedication to the veteran rugby, thank you once again for supporting our sport. In cooperation with OLD RUGBY CLUB ITALIA and EVRA the Italian veterans were on the top of the organisers - with more than 20 tournaments as the part of European Series. Also in 2014 there was a Special Licor Beirao Award for the club/team that organized the most international veteran rugby tournament of the European Series.After Cernusco Old Rugby Club (Milano, Italy) veterans won this prize in 2012, in 2014 this Award went to LES INDEPENDANTS - the Veterans of Beauvais Rugby Club (France). EVRA, The spirit of Rugby – 6th European Festival 2026 in Budapest

At the beginning of 21st century Veteran Rugby was booming all over Europe . . . at numerous veteran tournaments – European Festivals former Rugby players were able

to play again their favourite Game, meeting old and new friends.

One British Lions and England player said very clearly at that time: “European Veteran Rugby Association comes to fill the space, that we all missed.

The organization works without any profit but with the right spirit and with the hard work made possible to converge and to gather many clubs and players that missed to play again after many years . . . and enjoying Rugby under the Motto Fun & Friendship & Fraternity”

Take a look at the photo of AAC Amsterdam team captain at the last Festival in Belluno 2019, holding with pride the most valuable “Festival prize” Jeff Butterfield Trophy . . .

Then “came” the dirty Covid -19 Pandemic and everything stopped. Nobody had believed that this can “take a long run”, but it happened.

The last EVRA European Festival was in 2019 in Belluno (Italy), well organised by Fossili Dolomitici Old Rugby & friends. Since that time the efforts with Leipzig Germany 2021, with AAC Amsterdam Netherlands 2023 and finally with Milano, Gubbio Italy 2025, brought no success.

Informing our members a couple of months later EVRA got recently the offer from Old Boys Hungary willing to stage our 6th Festival in Budapest in 2026.

Executive Board thanked Hungarian friends, that already in 2013 organised European Festival in Esztergom, and accepted the offer submitted by Attila Kovacs, OBH Team Manager and also EVRA Executive Board member . . . Festival will take place at the facilities of Hungarian National Rugby Centre in Budapest, starting on June 4th and ending at June 7th 2026.

II FESTIVAL VETERANOS DE VALLADOLID
Below we offer you information about the II Veterans Tournament of Valladolid (Spain)
It is a special proposal only for 4 EVRA teams, with their annual fee paid.

THE FESTIVAL

The Festival will have the participation of veteran teams.
The teams will proceed from all over Spain, with the intention also that ensembles from the rest of Europe attend
The Festival will feature the participation of veteran male and female teams.
Likewise, we will extend the offer to +50 teams, that is, to exclusively integrated teams by players over fifty years of age.

THE CITY
Valladolid is a Spanish city located north of Madrid about 200 km.
Valladolid is one of the hegemonic cities of rugby in Spain.
The Historical and Cultural Heritage of Valladolid is very generous,
being from the fifteenth century until the seventeenth heart of the nation and one of its most important cities of the time.

In addition to a large number of museums and cultural routes, Valladolid offers a large number of wineries, scattered throughout the province, where architecture, history, gastronomy and wine culture come together in an unbeatable way.

€85 PER PERSON
The price per person is €85 and includes all of this:

Health insurance.
Use of Pepe Rojo fields, changing rooms and facilities. Parking.
Matches directed by FRCyL referees.
Sanitary service in the field. Doctor and ambulance. Physiotherapy service.
Awarding of a guide for each team, to resolve doubts, procedures and information.
Player's backpack, with gifts.
“Third time type” food on the premises. Water supply
during the tournament
Beer for all players during break time or "happy hour"
Commemorative gift to each club for participation.
Trophy delivery.
Skill contests and recreational activities for players,
Streaming service for the event (matches to be confirmed)
Celebration and joint dinner for all the participants, on Saturday afternoon/evening, consisting of a barbecue-type dinner, with an open bar of wine and beer. (Later the party will continue, with a live concert and DJ throughout the party)

New EVRA Partner from Barcelona

Mediterranea Sports Tour, Sports Tourism Agency started in 2022 with the ambitions to develop/promote Veteran Rugby, organising tournaments, tours – especially in Barcelona, Marbella, Palma de Mallorca and Ibiza where they have alliances with major local veteran rugby teams, clubs and Rugby federations.

This Sports Tourism Agency has also special intention to organize EVRA European Veteran Rugby Festival in the future.

Felipe Gili Adriasola, Director with Master in Sports Management at UPF Barcelona School of Management and co-owner of this Agency addressed E V R A wanting to start the co-operation joining our Association.

With great interest we welcomed Mediterranea Sports Tour to become EVRA Partner and started this month with including all very interesting 2023 Veteran Rugby tournaments/tours in our European Series Events Calendar . . . events that are organized in mentioned “pearls” of Spanish tourism !

We are delighted to share the news that Mediterranea Sports Tour has recently entered into a momentous partnership with the prestigious European Veteran Rugby Association this February 2023.

This exciting collaboration includes all of our veteran rugby tours for the cities of Barcelona, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, and Marbella for the months of April, May, June, September, October, and November of this year, which are set to feature prominently in their upcoming Events Calendar. In addition to this, we are eagerly seeking to host and organize The European Veteran Rugby Series in 2025.

Our main goal is to foster and promote the game of veteran rugby by arranging high-quality tournaments, tours, and other similar events. We are committed to providing our customers with unparalleled experiences that they will cherish for a lifetime.
