Today at 1:00pm begins the 2016 episode of the European Championship F3A. Host of this international established event is the MFC Untermünkheim.
Here a few words from the German pilots-representative Nils Brückner:
Dear friends and pilots,
I am very proud that Germany is elected to host this years' F3A European Championship of the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI). For every competitor who pursues our sport of precision the F3A European Championship is not only a competition as any other.
It is so much more for each of the 70 pilots.
Every single one has proven through numerous of national and international World-Cup competitions and in addition to that the domestic national team selections to be one of Europe's best pattern flyers. With that in mind all teams of the 25 competing nations represent their own country on the big stage of the European Championship. For those who are elected to participate in this event it is the well deserved pay for many years of demanding practice and passion for our sport.
But what makes the Euros the Euros?
In my opinion you cannot rate a competition high enough that brings so many talented model flyers together. The spirit of this event is elating because the pilots won't let each other off nothing on the flight line but will joke around and think of new ways of the sport together all the remaining time.
It is the meeting of old and new friends that make the Euros what they are - a great time together with decent sportsmen.
Hosting such an marvelous competition is a challenging job to do. In knowing of this I specially want to thank all the members and friends of the Untermünkheimer Modellflugclub e.V. who spent lots of time and patience into this first F3A European Championship in Germany and make it not only possible, but rather more a wonderful memory!

Um 13:00 Uhr beginnt die diesjährige Europameisterschaft im F3A Motorkunstflug. Gastgeber dieser international angesehenen Veranstaltung ist der Untermünkheimer Modellflugclub e.V.
Hierzu einige Worte des F3A Aktivensprecher Nils Brückner:
Liebe Freunde und Piloten,
Ich bin sehr stolz, dass Deutschland zum Gastgeber der diesjährigen F3A Europameisterschaft der Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) gewählt wurde. Für Piloten, die unseren Präzisionssport betreiben, ist die Europameisterschaft kein Wettbewerb wie jeder andere.
Für jeden der 70 Piloten ist Sie so viel mehr. Denn jeder Einzelne hat durch die Teilnahme an zahllosen nationalen und internationalen World-Cup Wettbewerben, sowie der heimischen Teamselektion bewiesen, dass er einer der besten Kunstflugpiloten Europas ist.
Vor diesem Hintergrund repräsentieren alle Teams der teilnehmenden 25 Nationen ihr Land auf der großen Bühne der Europameisterschaft. Für diejenigen, die erwählt wurden, an dieser Meisterschaft teilzunehmen, ist die Teilnahme der wohlverdiente Lohn für jahrelanges, hartes Training und Leidenschaft für unseren Sport.
Aber was macht die EM zur EM?
Meiner Meinung nach, kann ein Wettbewerb, der so viele talentierte Piloten zusammen bringt, nicht überbewertet werden. Die Atmosphäre dieser Veranstaltung ist begeisternd, denn obwohl sich die Piloten an der Flightline nichts schenken, spaßen sie in der verbleibenden Zeit zusammen und sprechen über neue Richtungen des Sports. Es ist das Treffen von alten und neuen Freunden, was die EM zu dem macht, was sie ist - eine tolle Zeit mit großartigen Sportlern. Gastgeber einer solchen Veranstaltung sein zu dürfen ist eine herausfordernde Aufgabe.
In diesem Wissen möchte ich mich besonders bei allen Mitgliedern und Freunden des Untermünkheimer Modellflugclub e.V bedanken, die sehr viel Zeit und Geduld in diese erste F3A EM in Deutschland investiert haben und die EM nicht nur ermöglicht, sondern mehr noch zu einer wunderschönen Erinnerung gemacht haben!
