The Gentle Jaunt

Selected bicycles, outdoor gear and exquisite coffee. "The Gentle Jaunt" is Berlin's new place for the laid-back cycling- and outdoor-enthusiast.

We provide a fine selection of bicycles for daily commuting as well as for gravel-, travel- and CX-adventures. Beyond the wheels, we will equip you with neat pieces of outdoor gear and you'll be served some exquisite coffee for post-ride recovery. We want you to grab your friends, pack a tent and spend the weekend out there riding and fooling around. No competition, It's all about having a good time and find recreation from the madness we call everyday life. Join us on the Jaunt!

Beautiful Prospector custom build for Guido from Austria put together with a lot of classy silver parts. Matching anodized and dynamo hub laced to silver polished UKAI 29″ rims with Vittoria Mezcal tyres. Shimano XT disc brakes for proven stoping power and Shimano XT crank combined with stainless Tumbleweed chainring that probably will outlast you. Tumbleweed Persuader handlebar for comfy seating position and a Berthoud leather saddle for the right look and comfort.

Xerxes brought some parts and together we finished this beautiful custom Mehteh. The paintjob is just out of this world (we cant wait to see the new blue lagoon version though!) The bike is build with the new Rival XPLR groupset and SL finishing kit!

Earlier this year we put together this Ogre being send to the north of Germany for Christine. The Ogre is a very versatile, multi purpose vehicle for daily commuting up to off road touring. We build the bike with a 2×12 Deore drivetrain, powerful SLX disc brakes and handbuild wheels with rims rolling on well proven Vittoria Mezcal tyres. The Kyote handlebar offers ergonomic handposition in combination with comfortable grips and the Ritchey build kit just fits fine! rear rack for transportational needs.

One of this winters highlights was planing & building Anatolys custom
Big Kev. The bike was handed over ready for having fun with
handbuild wheels made with purple Tech Pro 5 hubs laced to
Advanced SL X.R. carbon rims with matching purple ni***es. Rolling on
well proven Mezcal tires. Force XPLR e1 AXS shifting
combined with a Aldhu crankset and 10-46t cassette offers a
versatile ratio for every terrain. finishing kit and some
purple Hope details rounds up the full package with ergonomics and
style.

decided to bring some colour into the whole custom bike project and painted his new Cycles Big Bro himself before we build it up for him.

The idea behind this build was a all weather, all terrain touring and commuter MTB. We build the bike with proven SLX 1×12 drivetrain, Forge wheelset with Ikon tyres. drifter bar for relaxed hand position with grips for superb ergonomics.

Full hauling capacity with Commuter front rack and rear rack. SKS fenders for keeping Andrew dry while riding in miserable weather.

We have already shown you this one! But we have another photoset and it's too beautiful to not show again!

Nice Croix de Fer custom we built for Ben according to his bike-sizing . Equipped with a GRX RX825 Di2 fully cabled for maximum battery life. Ergomax handlebars for lower spacer stack and modular Vergast crankset for various zero offset chainring sizes. Completed with a nice Pro4 x handbuilt wheelset with an all-time favorite purple touch.

With Mario we made a sportive approach to the well known Midnight Special. The front was upgraded with a Carbon Gravel fork and orange headset. To underline the sportive look we laced hubs to more aero Road Runner rims and combined the wheelset with fast Speedero tyres. Drivetrain is a full GRX 2×12 setup and finishing kit (seatpost, stem and handlebar) Service Course with the most comfy Nastro bar tape. The result is a fast and sportive Endurance / All Road bike that shines on pot-holed, deteriorating pavement and the occasional long stretch of gravel!

Join us on September 26th for the first private Berlin screening of Desert Lilies, a female perspective on endurance sports.

The documentary follows journey to race the 2024 edition of Desertus Bikus: a 1350 km ultra gravel challenge from Hasparren (FR) to Setúbal (PT).

Caught between the fast pace of work, city life, and her love for cycling, Alice signs up for the race in search of limits, self-belief, and inspiration: to see what she's really capable of and maybe spark something for others too. Along the way, she meets Anna, winner of the Marathon des Sables, whose story of resilience helps guide her preparation.

Desert Lilies is a film about endurance, doubt, courage, and the wild joy of going all in.
