2025 - what a life changing experience! In the beginning of this year I was scared to embark on this journey - one year in South America, traveling and living in a van, I really had mixed feelings to say the least. Honestly I was really afraid! I was fearing to lose business opportunities, maybe even endanger what I have built over the last 15 years as my career. I was also scared to not be able to train like I used to and lose my fitness and skills I have worked so hard for. I was just bluntly afraid of the countries and consequences of traveling in a van without being able to speak Spanish and with all the things you hear about the safety situation on the news. To put it short I would have rather not embarked on this trip, but I knew it was Antonia’s big dream. I also felt that I could not be the one to not at least give it a try, since I always preach to „Face your Fears“. But sure it’s always something different to talk about a concept, than to fully live it, especially when you have to apply it in a domain, which is not your stronghold. It’s usually ok for me to get scared doing sports, that’s what I know… but the unknown unknowns of traveling gave me the chills. So that was exactly why I decided I had to go! Thank you Antonia for providing the motivation, the persistence and the support I needed to leave my comfortable and honestly „perfect“ life at home for something uncertain. But yeah, I feel like you can guess already that it was worth it. Not without challenges, not without (temporarily) giving up on things I really love, but for sure worth it! Especially because I started realizing or at least planing out many dreams I had for years, but was too afraid or too comfortable to really dare to try them. That’s why we all should listen carefully to our fears, not to give in to them but to face them. Because fears we don’t face become limits.
