It's hard to believe, but in less than a week we'll be arriving in Emtmannsberg for the EFC 2026 - European Flyball Championship

This year’s team is made up of dogs and handlers from Finesse, Junkyard Dogs, Aces High and Reiver Rebels. Somehow, a group that spends most of the year racing against each other always manages to come together when it matters.

Last year in Belgium, Monkeys came home as divisional champions. It's a title we're incredibly proud of, and one we'll be doing everything we can to defend this year. We know the racing will be tough, but that's exactly what makes these championships so special.

As much as we're looking forward to the racing, one of the best parts of the week is catching up with friends from all over Europe. There's something reassuring about spending a few days surrounded by people who also think driving halfway across the continent so their dog can chase a tennis ball is a perfectly sensible way to spend a holiday!

We'll be sharing plenty of photos, videos and race updates throughout the week, so keep an eye on the page and follow our journey. We'd love to have as many of you as possible cheering us on from home.

What a fantastic day for Monkeys at Hedsor Golf Club.

Our first training session together as a team, and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better start. The dogs ran brilliantly—full of energy, confidence, and most importantly, clearly having so much fun out there together.

For a team running side by side for the very first time, they looked fantastic. Every race felt like another step forward, with trust, teamwork, and confidence growing with each run.

Seeded 6th in a very competitive Division 1, the goal was simple: come together, enjoy ourselves, and see what we could do. To finish the day 4th overall, taking wins across the day against such strong competition, was a brilliant bonus—and a real sign of what this team could achieve.

We’re incredibly proud of Monkeys and every single dog, and already looking forward to building on the success of yesterday as we prepare to hopefully defend our 2025 European Flyball Championships divisional title.

A fantastic first outing, and an exciting step towards this year’s European Flyball Championships.

The Monkeys Flyball Teams are headed off to their first European Flyball Championship training session at Hedsor Golf Course, hosted by Lighting Strikes! 🐒🐾

Made up of dogs and handlers from Finesse, Reiver Rebels, Junkyard Dogs & Aces High Flyball Teams, we’re looking forward to testing different lineups, building confidence, and really gelling as a team in preparation for EFC 2026 - European Flyball Championship in Germany this August 🇩🇪🔥

Sat in Frankfurt Airport, reflecting upon the European Flyball Championships 2022 and being proud of what the ‘Monkeys’ name has once again achieved

‘Monkeys’, which was joined with a combination of dogs from Basset Allsorts, Junkyard Dogs & Fawkes was the only British team to travel to the Czech Republic, an incredible feat within itself - taking 2 teams is an additional bonus

Both teams only had one training session, yet despite this were both within .2 of their declared times. We played the game how it was designed to played, and that is something that Monkeys will never change. Regardless of the placement that comes as a consequence.

The best clean times across the competition for both teams were-

16.50 for Monkeys: Net 16.04

17.53 for Troop of Monkeys: Net 17.44

A feat we are incredibly proud of.

As we were short staffed, Ellen came and helped us with both teams during the speed trials. A very generous offer, given she had originally only been going on a judges placement and one we are incredibly grateful for.

Unfortunately, the running order for the double elimination saw Ellen taken away from us to judge. Thankfully Melanie & stepped away from their own team, Roadrunners (at times, whilst they were racing in a different ring) to help. Thank you both so very much for this we couldn’t of done anything without you both.

During the speed trials, unfortunately Mac & Lottie both sustained injuries. Thankfully, Corrina from Happy Feet physiotherapy was able to see them and gave us the opportunity to race in the double elimination. You truly do have ‘magic fingers’ and without you, our EFC journey would of been over before the Sunday. Thank you ❤️

We would like to extend once again a massive congratulations to Roadrunners Flyball Teams for winning the European Flyball Championships 2022, your 2nd European Championships in 2. Simply incredible!

Now, it is time to rebuild the dogs in anticipation of the British Flyball Association indoor & outdoor championships in just a few weeks.

Until Hungary, 2023 🐒

And day 1 of racing at the European Flyball Championships has drawn to a close!

Today was the day of our 2nd team, ‘Troop of Monkeys’ to battle it out in division 8 of Speed Trials! On a declared time of 17.50 and with only one training session under our belt we felt we may have been a bit optimistic… however, we need not have worried as on the first leg we bashed out a 17.53 clean 🎉

No thanks to Miss 3.5ft Foster mind… Martyn luckily came in to save the day though (evidence below🙊)

The rest of the day we rested Georgie, in anticipation of the double elimination, giving Ray & Brio their time to shine… showing us all the consistency they have learnt through years of attending the EFC’s

We now turn our attention to division 3 speed trials and Monkeys tomorrow. Here’s hoping it’s just as successful!
