CIHAN CALIS aka GAMBIT

When i first started with slacklinging in 2008, i would have taken it as a joke, if someone would
have told me back then, that in 5 years from now i would be known as one of the most famous
trickliners in this scene. Even less likelier at that point was the formation and foundation of
GAMBIT Slacklines. The term „Gambit“ is originally from chess and is referring to a

sneaky opening, where small
sacrifices in the early stages are helpful to win the battle in the end. Fact is, at this point i did not have a clue what the term meant, but rather i was a big fan of a certain
korean Breakdancer, who was known under this name in the Bboying-scene for his extraordinary
moves. As a dancer on the rope it seemed natural to use this name as a term for this style, which is now
known as my trademark. The dream of every skateboarder, snowboarder or slackliner is first of all to be able to use
professional material, which is specifically designed for this sport. With this ambition in mind,
i was searching for a strong partner in the last two years, who would help me with the certain
knowhow needed to develop a set. Thus i was able to find the perfect partner last summer, the
Wiedenmann-Seile GmbH. Wiedemann-Seile is able to look back on a 200-year-old company history and offers besides the
german products, also all necessary test facilities directly on location Marktsteft. Since i want to primarily support the sport, i refrain from extravagant printed packaging. You
should receive a functioning piece of sports equipment your money's worth and not a multicolored
carton. The strap „Icarus“ accompanied me for the last 6 month and is perfectly suitable for
slacklining as well as tricklining, which is why it was the first strap to be admitted in the product
range.

Hi folks, my European Online-Shop is closed since 01.09.2015.
