Darmstadt GAA

Der Darmstadt GAA e.V. hat die irischen Sportarten Hurling und Gaelic Football nach Südhessen gebracht. Kein Problem wir fangen ganz vorne an!

Unser Ziel ist vor allem das Bekanntmachen des Sports, nehmen aber dennoch auch kompetitiv an den deutschen und europäischen Meisterschaften teil. Interesse daran den schnellsten, ältesten und packensten Mannschaftssport der Welt zu spielen? Hurling ist der mindestens 3000 Jahre alte Nationalsport der irischen Insel, wo er Fußball und Rugby fast vollkommen von der Bildfläche verschwinden lässt. Ge

spielt wird mit gebogenen Schlägern und einem Tennisball-großen Lederball auf H-förmige Tore. Der Sport kombiniert Eigenschaften von Hockey, Rugby, Fußball, Baseball und Lacrosse – ist aber für sich selbst ein vollkommen eigener und spannender Teamsport. Wir versuchen Hurling nach Darmstadt zu bringen und sind daher auf der Suche nach Interessierten jeder Art. Du hast bis jetzt noch nie von dem Sport gehört aber trotzdem Interesse? Ab Wintersemester 2014/15 sind wir Gruppe des UniSports der TU Darmstadt. English:
We are a Hurling group of the sports program of the "Technische Universität Darmstadt". Formed out of the remains of the "Bad Homburg GAA"-Club we started training in Winter 2012/13 and will start as a UniSport-Group from October 2014 on. Our aim is to promote the GAA and Hurling in the region and eventually the participation in the European Championships. Yet we are an entirely Non-Irish group (the first of its kind in Germany) but we are open to any kind of support from anywhere in the world.

Round 3 of the 2026 European Hurling and Camogie Tournaments took place in Vienna on Saturday 5th September 🇦🇹

The girls joined forced with Berlin GAA and Luxembourg GAA Club and after coming second in their group, they finished the day with fourth place in the cup 🏆4️⃣

After a tough morning, the boys (supported by Mainz GAA, Bern GAA, Berlin GAA) lost the shield final to Munich Colmcilles GAA Club 2-05 to 1-06 🛡️2️⃣

🇩🇪 Am Samstag, den 5. September, fand in Wien die 3. Runde der European Hurling & Camogie Championships 2026 statt 🇦🇹

Die Mädels haben sich mit Berlin GAA und Luxembourg GAA Club zusammengetan: Nach einem starken zweiten Platz in der Gruppenphase beendeten sie den Turniertag schließlich auf Platz 4 im Cup! 🏆4️⃣

Nach einem harten Vormittag mussten sich die Jungs (mit Verstärkung von Mainz GAA, Bern GAA und Berlin GAA) im Shield-Finale gegen Munich Colmcilles GAA Club leider knapp mit 2-05 zu 1-06 geschlagen geben. 🛡️2️⃣

One year ago we hosted the German Camogie and Hurling cups. And now the next round in Berlin is around the corner. This is the season starter for Camogie and Hurling in Germany, and what a season it will be. Plenty of European tournaments and the World Games in Waterford awaits. We're looking forward to a great year!
