I had a lot of fun running a workshop for 20 of the top PTs from the rapidly growing team Anytime Fitness Thailand 🇹🇭
It was an intense 2 hours exploring how - from a joints perspective - resistance is about more than how heavy something is. The direction of the resistance, its distance from the joint axis and how quickly we move it are all essential to understanding exercise… and only once we understand something can we manipulate it strategically and accurately.
A key aspect I’ve been working on with my shorter seminars recently has been taking theoretical content and making it as “live” and practical as possible. Helping trainers feel the difference as well as seeing it.
Within two hours the faces went from wide-eyed shock as trainers told me “I’ve never thought about it like that” to wide-eyed excitement as they realised the possibilities of how much left there was to dive into as a professional. They wouldn’t let me leave! The last shot is from them cornering me after class with my highly sophisticated $8 fishing scale to run through some of what we said again and with different examples.
Andy Norman - thanks for bringing me in to inspire the team. You’re building a great one!
