✅ Understanding the basics of food labels.

✅ Check whether the food that you are buying fits into your context or not .

✅ Our food becomes good or bad based on our personal context.

✅ However processed, junk, refined, sugars will always be bad & is non contextual.

✅ Read the ingredient list properly & don’t take words like raw, natural, organic, nectar, natural flavors etc at their face value. Read in between the lines.

✅ Read the nutritional info carefully and see where the calories are coming from.

✅ Then take a call if it’s in your scheme of things or not.

Mind Control & Food in Gita.

✅ Krishna explains in chapter 3 how our thoughts based on conditioned likes & dislikes arise from our subconscious to concious level.
✅ Once they are expressed at our concious level, there is very little that we can do to change them.
✅ Then he explains about a small window of opportunity in between the subconcious & the concious level.
✅ This narrow window is controllable & this is where we should have our decision making mechanism to control/alter our thoughts based on our goals in life.

✅ In chapter 17 he explains about the foods that we should eat for longevity, health & happiness.

✅ All this 5000 years ago, technically 3000 BCE.

✅ These teachings will hold good till life exists on this planet.

Lessons to learn from Foie Gras and Pig farms.

1. These birds and animals are weaned off their natural diet and fed only grains to fatten them.

2. They are force fed with corn, soy, wheat, rice etc till they become obese and develop a fatty liver.

3. If we consume too much of grains then sooner or later we too are bound to be afflicted with obesity, pot belly, fatty liver, high insulin, diabetes, CVD, inflammatory conditions etc.

✅ Neither the lungs nor the heart nor the muscles are responsible for triggering the exhaustion set point.

✅ It is our brain which does that by reducing the recruitment of muscle fibres.

✅ This is a way of preserving ourselves because of the system of allocating resources to the most critical part in our body & that is the brain.

✅ So when our brains are tired due to stress or lot of decision making or poor diet then the brain needs a lot of resources to reset itself.

✅ Hence during a hard physical activity the intelligence inside senses the danger of resources being consumed by your physical activity leaving the brain starved.

✅ Brain then starts reducing the recruitment of muscle fibres and our arms & legs no longer move with ease making us stop the activity.
