Balance does not mean doing everything 🩷💜🩷 !!

You do not have to chase every goal or fill every hour. A balanced life ⚖️ is not one packed with endless tasks. It is one shaped by clarity, intention, and alignment with what truly matters to you.

According to the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work, overwork and poor work-life balance are among the leading causes of emotional burnout and stress across Europe. Many people feel pressure to do more, but in reality, more does not always mean better. The absence of rest, quality relationships, and space for reflection often leads to exhaustion rather than fulfillment. 😴❤️💭

Making time for what gives you energy, peace, and connection is not optional. It is essential. Balance is not about squeezing everything in. It is about letting go of what drains you and making room for what makes you feel well.

Health isn't just about medicine - it's about how you live every day 🩷🤍💜

Health isn't just about medicine - it's about how you live every day 🩷🤍💜

In a world where chronic diseases are on the rise, Lifestyle Medicine is transforming how we approach health. Rather than just treating symptoms, it focuses on preventing, managing, and even reversing diseases through sustainable lifestyle changes. 🔄✨

This evidence-based approach emphasizes key areas of daily life that impact long-term health. By making intentional choices, individuals can improve their well-being, enhance longevity, and reduce the risk of chronic illness.

🔬 Backed by science, Lifestyle Medicine empowers individuals to take charge of their health by addressing the root causes of disease—leading to long-term well-being instead of short-term fixes.

At Lagom European Healthy Lifestyle Academy, we help health professionals and enthusiasts integrate these principles into daily life for a balanced, evidence-based approach to healthy lifestyle.

Excercise works for everyone - just not the same way 🥰

Excercise works for everyone - just not the same way 🥰

As we asked in our Myth or Truth quiz, do women get more health benefits from exercise than men, even with less time being active?

Here is what the research says:

A recent study by Ji et al. (2024) looked at data from over 400,000 adults and found something surprising. Women saw bigger benefits from exercise than men, even when they did less. Women who were active had a 24 percent lower risk of dying from any cause and a 36 percent lower risk of dying from heart-related issues 💪. Men also benefited, but their numbers were smaller, at 15 percent and 14 percent 🏃‍♀️. And here is the kicker. Women did not need as much exercise time to get those results. A little movement went a long way.

So what does this mean?

For women, even small amounts of regular activity can lead to big health wins. It is not always about doing more. It is about moving in ways that support your well-being. ✨

🧠Mental health is fundamental to our overall well-being and directly affects our ability to face challenges and maintain healthy relationships. However, to ensure robust mental health, it is essential to consider all areas of our lifestyle. The Move the Mind project highlights how empowerment for mental wellbeing through sport is an effective approach. Assessing aspects such as physical activity, nutrition, sleep and stress management allows us to create a holistic balance. Assessing and adjusting each of these areas allows for a holistic approach to health, helping to promote a sustainable balance between body and mind. Investing time in each aspect of lifestyle not only strengthens mental health, but also improves quality of life and overall well-being.

Move the Mind means Empowerment for Mental Well-Being through Sport.

Move the Mind is an awareness-raising and empowerment project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission as a Collaborative Partnership in the field of Sport. 🧠 Increase the evidence base about the positive aspects of sport and physical activity for contributing to mental health and well-being.

🏋️‍♂️ Build the capacity of sport coaches to harness the positive mental impact of sport during their training sessions.

🌍 Empower adults impacted by crises to use sport as a tool to cope with challenges and improve their mental health and well-being.
