How does the longboard work? Our custom-made hinges were designed in-house and manufactured at our factory. They are powerful and stay locked in place via proprietary design. As the hinges are self-limiting in rotating, they do not sway while the board is being carried or ridden. When unfolded, the SNAP Longboard does not need unsightly and redundant fixtures such as locks or pins to stay in place since it will always stay horizontal when ridden, even while going over bumpy terrain. The folding and unfolding mechanism is firm, thus the unfolded deck will stay flat and will not fold, even if you catch air. After all, our intent was to create an esthetically pleasing product that will not just meet but surpass the functionality of a genuine drop deck longboard. How strong is the longboard? We recommend up to 220 lbs (100 kg), although the hinges will support much more weight, since excessive weight will induce more flex in the longboard and lessen its ground clearance. (At their own discretion, heavier riders may attempt to raise the board higher by installing risers or using wheels larger than 83mm in diameter). SNAP Longboard's hinges and Canadian maple deck are very durable and we confidently stand behind our product 100%. Is this longboard good to do tricks on? Whatever you can do on a regular drop deck longboard - you can also do on a SNAP Longboard. Drop deck longboards were created to be stable and low to the ground. Another positive is that they can take huge wheels such as 83 mm fly wheels and still having a nice low ride height. If you intend to perform tricks that are not associated with drop deck longboards, then you may want to consider using another type of longboard which is suitable for that sort of task.
