To everyone out there going for it and flying you hearts out!!!
Charlewars - D4W and D2W competition - Airspace Indoor Skydiving
Charlewars will be the fourth competition organized by Dynamic4Way.net. A non profit "organization" aiming to raise the level of the sport and the way we present it. This time the show moves on to Charleroi, just outside Brussels in Belgium, where Airspace Indoor Skydiving will be opening up for business spring 2014.
Dates:
Workshop 24-27 May 2014
Competition 28-31 May 2014
Organizers:
Håvard Flaat and Domitille Kiger
Rules:
See D4W.net
D4W: No changes will be made to the rules before Charlewars, including the divepool. However, changes may be made regarding the way we judge certain rounds, specifically if we choose to develop a review system for speedrounds. However changes will not effect the training that teams need to do leading up to the competition.
D2W: For teams signing up for D2W we highly reccommend that you participate in the workshop. This will be a first try test competition and rules will not be developed before the workshop. If you want to take part in a similar process that has been going on with D4W over the last 2 years, then you are welcome to do so. Out of experience we know that significant testing needs to be done before work starts on creating specific rules. For training, 90 sec free rounds and speedrounds similar to D4W divepool but removing 2 last flyers is the most relevant tip we can give so far.
Registration:
Comp is open for up to 16 teams D4W and 8 teams D2W
Reg.fee 800E Includes all competition time and 45 min official training pr team.
Additional training time can be booked at a rate of 680E pr hour. No training after 29 May midnight. Contact Steve Braff - [email protected]
Registration: Håvard Flaat ([email protected])
Workshop:
All registered athletes and staff are invited to take part in the workshop. Other key developers of D4W.net will be invited to participate aswell. Airspace sponsored time will be used primarily for developing, testing and filming a D2W divepool, aswell as specific training for judging of speed and freerounds. Participating teams are therefore encouraged to buy training time during the workshop, both to make use of their time, but also as a way of getting feedback on their flying and training with the judging system.
The juorney continues:
we want to take the opportunity to thank everyone that has participated in this project. Its nice to see the progress that has been made over the last year in the way we organize and present competitions. More important though is the way it has brought the community together to work on important parts of our sport and the positive effect it has had on the freefly community when it comes to flying skills. The project has so far been carried out completely on the basis of voluntary work by the athletes and their friends, aswell as generous investments to the sport made by very dedicated windtunnel owners.
