Had some fun breaking some 3D printed Crash Plates this week. This is mainly for entertaining purposes as the printed materials behave very differently to solid plates. Most likely this will be made from PA6 which is a very tough material that also slides well over rocks.

Working a bit more on the new handguard and support system. Feels already great.

So the TPU is too soft and the PETG is too hard. Also the way we mounted the aluminium plate wasn't very good. We will continue this in the next few days. Mountain Bike Crash Plate.

We are testing a new idea for a MTB crash plate which can reduce peak impact energy with small built in leaf springs. In the video you see a TPU so we can visualise the behaviour of the crash plate.
