The Special Prosecutor representing the United States Government, Attorney-at-Law Terrence Williams, told the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court that Nazar Mohamed and Azruddin Mohamed are alleged to be part of an extensive international criminal enterprise with connections spanning Venezuela, the United States, and the Middle East.

Williams made the revelation before Senior Magistrate Judy Latchman during Friday’s court proceedings, where the U.S. sought to have the two men extradited to face 11 charges of wire fraud, mail fraud, and money laundering in the Southern District of Florida.

According to Williams, the information provided to the court indicates that the Mohameds’ operations extend beyond Guyana’s borders and involve links to high-ranking officials in Venezuela and other criminal elements across multiple regions.
“The gentlemen before you have been engaged in an international criminal enterprise, including tentacles in Venezuela, reaching high offices there, and extending across the United States of America into the Middle East,” Williams told the Court.

He further noted that U.S. authorities suspect the Mohameds have maintained contact with Venezuelan officials and are actively making moves to continue their unlawful activities in the neighboring country.

Looking closer to home, Williams warned that the Mohameds also pose a national security concern for Guyana, alleging that their connections with Venezuelan and local criminal elements could disrupt peace and security within the country.

The attorney therefore urged the court not to grant the two men bail, arguing that their influence, resources, and international ties make them a serious flight risk and a potential threat to Guyana’s stability.

COPS CALLED OUT
A memorandum from the Deputy Commissioner of Police Junior Benjamin had ordered the immediate restriction of leave to all officers in the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS).

The memo dated today (Friday 31 October) was shared with the Express, and addressed to all heads of Sections, Units and Divisions within the TTPS.

“Please inform all officers under your command that all leave is restricted with immediate effect from Friday 31 October, 2025 until further notice. Please be guided accordingly,” it reads. READ MORE:

GPS blackout hits Venezuela’s northern coast — massive signal jamming spreads to Trinidad waters says Defence monitoring network

A sudden and unexplained GPS blackout has struck northern Venezuela and parts of Trinidad’s maritime zone, disrupting navigation systems and communications across the region late Friday.

The incident, which began without warning, has caused widespread satellite interference, leaving planes, vessels, and even mobile phone users struggling to access location and navigation data.

According to global flight and maritime tracking platforms, the affected area lit up with massive GPS signal jamming, stretching from Venezuela’s northern coast to the waters south of Trinidad and Tobago.

Defense monitoring network first reported the anomaly, warning that the scale and precision of the interference were “highly unusual” and not the result of normal atmospheric or technical issues.

“Phones aren’t lost… satellites are,” the post read. “This kind of jamming doesn’t just happen.”

The blackout has raised questions about possible electronic warfare activity or military exercises in the area, though neither the Venezuelan government nor regional authorities have issued any official statements explaining the disruption.

Aviation and maritime operators have been advised to exercise extreme caution, as GPS-based navigation remains unreliable across parts of the southern Caribbean.

Investigations into the source and intent of the interference are ongoing.

A memo circulated to members yesterday stated that the TTDF has been moved to State One Alert Level—the highest level of operational readiness.

According to the order, all soldiers are to report to their bases by 6 p.m., with a general muster scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

The Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force has been placed on high alert, with all army personnel ordered to report to base within the next few hours, according to multiple senior intelligence and military sources.

Sources told The Express that a circular was sent out to all staff mid-morning stating "Please Be Prepared To( PBT) report to the office if required today. Pending confirmation from Detachment Commander Regimental Headquarters."

T&T SLAPS 100% TARIFF ON CARICOM GOODS
Beer, rum, and ci******es to cost more

In yet another move that risks deepening rifts between regional partners, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has announced a Trump-style 100 per cent tariff hike on alcohol and to***co products, including beer, rum, and ci******es made right here in the Caribbean.

Under the new Customs (Import Duty) (Caribbean Common Market) (Amendment) Order 2025, CARICOM-manufactured goods will now face the same steep import duties as local producers, effectively doubling excise and import costs overnight.

Government officials insist the change is about “fairness” and “public health.” But industry insiders warn that consumers will soon feel the squeeze, especially at bars and supermarkets where price adjustments will significantly increase.

Example:
A six-pack of regional beer that currently sells for TT $90 could soon climb to around $110 – $120, depending on how distributors pass on the new tariffs. Rum and to***co products are also expected to rise by 15 – 25 per cent before Christmas.

While the Ministry of Finance projects more than $1 billion in new revenue, critics say the move mirrors Trump-era protectionism, punishing regional trade and undermining the spirit of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME).

The 🤔 story of the Mohameds, well the short version

A Essequibian named Nazar "Shell" Mohamed acquired great wealth from supposedly buying and exporting gold and running a cambio, he built his business into an empire, he was getting old and chose his son (Azruddin Imtiaz Mohamed) as his successor, and started making him a part of the business (Mohameds Enterprise), Azruddin Mohamed was not a very smart kid, but he was ambitious and cunning, from a very young age he wanted to be like a drug lord known as "Roger Khan" the boy did everything to be like the drug lord, he even took the drugs lord wife and made her his wife and had a child with her, when the drug lord was in jail. Azruddin Mohamed was not satisfied with just being a rich son, he wanted attention, and did everything 🙄 to get it, so much so he paid to be on a "Forbes Billionaires" magazine and bought Lamborghini, Ferrari and anything he could to get people to look at him, so much so the U.S. Athorities noticed him and his father and their businesses, around the same time he befriended a famous fool known as Guyanese Critic. Guyanese Critic and Azruddin Mohamed were inseparable while gold was being smuggled and persons were being killed and the Guyanese Critic never knew until U.S. Athorities questioned him about killings, gold smuggling, drug smuggling and money laundering.
Reuters then wrote an article about the U.S. State Department investigation 🔎 🙄 of the Mohameds after they became business partners with ExxonMobil with an Shorebase venture, the Mohameds who had invested US $ 100,000,000 then said they were not really interested in the venture and pulled out, when in actuality they were forced out by the American.
Stories started to spread about the Mohameds being sanctioned, which they denied, Nazar Mohamed, Azruddin Mohamed, Mohameds Enterprise, Team Mohamed’s, Hadi’s World were all sanctioned on June 11th 2024, Azruddin Mohamed had already started to present himself as a philanthropist after being seen as the master mind of a violent crime that occurred on Main Street outside Palm Court 🌴, all the time the Mohameds were claiming they had no political ambitions, and that the U.S. sanctions will be lifted, the Mohameds who know the nature and cause for their demise, continue to tell Guyanese that all was well, Azruddin Mohamed made entry into Guyanese politics where he paid large sums of money to opposition executive members, their supporters, social media influencers, and a number of money hunger Guyanese which helped him to defeat the main opposition in Guyana at the September 1th elections, all the while the Mohameds continued to tell Guyanese the sanctions were nothing and they will go away, the Mohameds were then indicted in a Southern Florida court on Oct 2nd 2025, the Mohameds continues to blame everyone under the sun for their demise except themselves.
