NCAA Division I just made an important change for future college athletes 💰🏐
Starting with prospects who first enroll full-time on or after August 1, 2026, athletes have more flexibility to accept performance-based prize money from competitions before starting college.
Previously, prize money was generally limited by the athlete’s actual and necessary competition expenses.
But there’s an important distinction: this is a pre-enrollment rule change. Once you’re enrolled as a college athlete, different prize money restrictions still apply.
Especially if you compete internationally or play beach volleyball before college, this is a rule worth knowing. 👀🇺🇸
