⛵️ A massive week of 505 racing! From the lakes of Troyes to the Atlantic coast, the fleet has officially started the sailing season.

📍 Troyes: 15 boats, 4 Belgian teams, and a huge congrats to Kim & Tessa for taking 4th overall!

📍 La Rochelle EuroCup: 42 boats battling it out on the West Coast. We saw everything from breezy gusts to tactical chess matches in 7-10 knots. Congrats to Jan Phillip Hoffman & Felix Brockerhoff for taking the title with a masterclass in consistency! 🏆 High-level competition and daily tactical debriefs made for an electric vibe. ⚡️

🗓️ The road to the Hayling Island Worlds is ON. Catch us next in Germany and Le Havre !

⛵ WEEKEND REGATTA REPORT: BAD ZWISCHENAHN ⛵

What a fantastic weekend on the water at Bad Zwischenahn! Our regatta on April 26-27 brought together 18 boats for some truly memorable sailing! 🌊

Saturday treated us to conditions which kept everyone on their toes! We experienced everything from light air tactics to full trapeze champagne sailing moments. 🍾 The day wrapped up perfectly with a delicious dinner hosted by the sailing club, while we enjoyed a breathtaking sunset view 🌅 from the clubhouse balcony.

Sunday morning started promisingly with stable conditions for one good race, but Mother Nature had other plans! The wind became increasingly complicated and unpredictable, leading to the cancellation of further racing. We spent the afternoon packing up boats and heading home after another great regatta in the books!

🌊 **EURO CUP LEG 1 RECAP: SAINT-RAPHAËL, FRANCE** 🌊

What a thrilling weekend of racing (April 18-20) at the beautiful Saint-Raphaël! Our 5O5 fleet faced quite varied conditions:
• Day 1: Medium winds, good sailing
• Day 2: Winds hitting the high 20s! Many crews headed back early, but the bravest stuck it out 💪
• Day 3: Back to medium winds for our final races

Congrats to our podium finishers among the 29 competing boats:

⛵ Coupe des Vrais Bateaux - What a Weekend! ⛵
Just back from the first sailing regatta of the year in beautiful Troyes, France, and what an experience it was!
Saturday gave us sunshine and challenging winds that kept everyone on their toes. The conditions were constantly changing - one minute you'd be ahead, the next watching others catch a lucky gust on the other side of the course! Sunday brought more consistent winds, turning the race into a true test of speed and skill.

A special shout-out to the organizing committee at ASPTT Voiles Troyes for putting together such a fantastic event! Everything ran smoothly from start to finish.

🌞 SAILING SEASON 2025 IS COMING! 🌊
The days are getting longer and the sun is shining more often, sailing season is approaching!
Due to the great success of the promoweekend in 2024, we're starting the 2025 season with a similar concept: a promotional weekend on May 10-11 in Kinrooi (NLM).

📋 The program:
Saturday:

A day of race training organized by experienced sailing coach Stijn Oyen
Snacks & drinks after sailing (more info on this later!)

Sunday:

Participation in the opening race of NLM
Debriefing and preview of the 2025 race calendar

📍 Location: NLM - Kinrooi
💰 Registration: 16 € / participant (including participation in Sunday's race)
⭐ New this year: Unlike the previous edition, this event is now organized for both Fireball and 505 classes, which means even more boats will be on the water!

🌊⛵️ What a weekend we had at ASPTT Voiles Troyes Sailing Club! Despite the uncertain winds, our sailors showed real determination. Saturday started off with doubts, but when the wind finally showed up, we didn't waste a second. Three exciting races later, we gathered for a laid-back French "apero" and enjoyed a delicious dinner featuring the traditional andouillette at the local "Mangeoire."

Sunday was a bit trickier. We kept our spirits high even though no wind would come and thus no races sailed. Huge thanks to the club for keeping everything running smoothly. And a big shoutout to our champions:

The Belgian Championship is over, but what a blast it was! 💥

12 teams from 3 different nations took it up against each other in 2 to 3 bft on the Lac l'Eau d'Heure. Extremely tight racing brought us 5 different winners. ⛵️
