🏆 Hiko Devils Etreme Race – Event of the Year 2025 🏆
We’re super stoked and grateful to be named Event of the Year by Kayak Session. Huge thanks to all paddlers, volunteers, partners, and friends who’ve made Devils Race what it is over the past 19 years.
🎉 In 2026, we’re celebrating the 20th edition, and you’re all invited.
See you on the river 🤘
We are stoked to present the Devils Extreme Race as the 2025 Event of the Year!
The Devil’s Race, beyond being a multi-discipline competition, is a full-scale celebration of paddlesports in all their forms and one of the purest expressions of whitewater culture in Europe. While the 2025 edition was made special by the addition of the Extreme Kayak World Championships to the program, for the past 19 years, nearly 1,000 paddlers have converged on the Vltava River each edition, drawn as much by the whitewater as by the unmistakable atmosphere of the event. From the iconic train rolling along the valley to the party at the very heart of the weekend, the Devil’s Race jumbles racing and chaos in the best possible way, bringing the community together like no other event. Downriver, slalom, kids’ races, rafting, extreme, and wildwater all share the same space and energy. Much like Gauley Fest in North America, the Devil’s Race has grown into the largest gathering of whitewater paddlers in Europe, while never losing what made it special in the first place. It remains authentic, muddy, loud, welcoming, and occasionally messy. And that is why we love it. This award celebrates that legacy of whitewater culture. Try to make it next year if you can. It will be their 20th edition.
