Dear friend, Aikikai Slovakia | Slovak Aikido Association (SAA) is a proud, non-profit organization dedicated to spreading the art and philosophy of Aikido since 1993. We are community, welcoming practitioners of all ages and skill levels to train and grow together.
More than 30 years we have been investing our energy and time into the education, healthy growth, and development of children, youth, and adults across the whole society.
All of us know the treasure for life and society that is hidden within the Art of Peace that we all practice and love.
But there is a long-term struggle we have been facing.
Because we are not a competitive sports discipline that yields gold medals or celebrates victors at the expense of the defeated, we are overlooked and receive no support from the state or local government. As a non-profit organization, we are struggling to further our activities and be competitive against widely supported competitive sports and activities.
But we are practicing Budo (The way of Martial art). And the path of Budo has taught us something:
NO MATTER HOW HARD IT IS, NEVER GIVE UP!
The wise words of Osensei remind us:
"Be grateful even for hardship, setbacks, and bad people. Dealing with such obstacles is an essential part of training in the Art of Peace."
We believe that where closed eyes are blind to wisdom, the open heart sees. That is why we decided to turn to, and faith in, our own belief and community.
We have started a crowdfunding campaign and are raising funds to support our activities.

We need only a little. The funds will allow us to purchase the quality tatami mats necessary for our seminars, where all of us can meet and train together. Our goal is to become independent, organize more events, and ensure an environment that reflects the high standards of safety, quality, and honor Aikido deserves.
