The Ostrava Steel Hawks are proud to announce the commitment of goaltender Ryan McNeil (’05) from Saratoga Springs, New York! 🥅

Ryan is a driven, team-first goalie who brings confidence, aggression, and a relentless compete level every time he steps on the ice. His work ethic and mindset make him a strong presence in the crease and a competitor who rises to the moment.

“I chose the Steel Hawks because it gives me the opportunity to play high-level hockey while pursuing a strong education. I’m excited for the development path ahead and the opportunities to continue playing overseas after graduation. I’m looking forward to backstopping the Steel Hawks and contributing to a successful first season.”

Danny brings strong international experience, having played in Denmark with Esbjerg 2 and most recently competing in both the NCDC and EHL. An offensive-minded defenseman, he excels at skating the puck, joining the rush, and creating scoring opportunities.

Our Director of Scouting Zac Pearson recently visited the Springfield Junior Blues (NAHL) to strengthen international partnerships and educate players on professional opportunities within the EUCHL.

Zac met with players and staff to break down the European pro pathway — including league structure, contract expectations, playing style differences, and what North American athletes can expect when transitioning overseas. The discussion focused on development standards and long-term career planning at the professional level.

🦅 WELCOME TO OSTRAVA, OLIWER! 🦅

The Ostrava Steel Hawks are excited to announce the addition of Oliwer Lundberg to our program for the upcoming season!

A 6'2”, 209-lb left-shot defenseman from Sweden, Oliwer brings a strong mix of size, mobility, and international experience, having competed in both North American junior hockey and Sweden’s Division 2. He’ll compete in the EUCHL (comparable to NCAA Division III) while continuing his university education in Ostrava.

The Ostrava Steel Hawks are proud to announce the signing of Canadian goaltender Koy Sutherland 🇨🇦 for our inaugural season in the EUCHL.

A 2005-born netminder from Grande Prairie, Alberta, Koy brings junior experience from both Canada and the U.S. and is expected to compete for minutes in goal.
