Do you know how to properly practice Cat and Cow poses?
Cat and Cow poses are excellent exercises for arching and warming up your back. Even though they look simple, focusing on the right details and linking movement to breath is key for maximum benefit and safety.
What to keep in mind during practice:
On the INHALE (Cow Pose)
Relax your belly and let your tailbone lift up. Softly bend your elbows so they don’t lock out. Open your chest forward and gently arch your back.
On the EXHALE (Cat Pose)
Actively press away from the mat—power comes from your palms, tops of the feet, and shins! Tuck your pelvis and draw your belly button toward your spine. Round your back smoothly into a full Cat pose.
💡 Tip: Take it slow. Let the movement flow directly from your breath and feel your spine mobilizing vertebra by vertebra. Repeat 5–10 times.
