For the second time in their Extraliga history, Boleslav has qualifier directly for the quarter-finals (after the 2015/16 season).

They have also set a club record for points accumulated in a season with 85, beating the 83 points gained in the 2015/16 season with four games still to play.

Their 29 wins (21 in regulation time and 8 in overtime) beats last season's total of 28 (25+3).

All that remains now is to finish as strong as possible and see who they will face in the QF. It's very close, so we may not know until the last day.

What...a...game! It looked like it was heading for a clear defeat at 4-1 down right at the beginning of the second period, with too many fouls, poor goal tending. And then when, following a 5 minute + game penalty for Mára Trončínský for kneeing and another 2 minute penalty almost immediately after, they were left facing almost 7 straight minutes short-handed, I feared the worst. Then thinks really started to change. Powerplay goals for 2-4 and 3-4 were followed by the equaliser just seconds into the third period and we had an entirely different game on our hands. For the rest of the game players on both teams struggled to control the puck which bounced around due to the heat, so we went into overtime. And in what was a something of a bizarre game, it seemed only fitting that it was decided by a lucky goal, with Tomáš Urban deflecting the puck past Katcetl giving Boleslav two points that they will take home with both hands.

Boleslav finishes in 6th place after the 2015/16 season and, for the first time in its history, qualifies directly for the Extraliga play-off quarter-finals. The best-of-seven series begins on Monday 14 March away at Hradec Králové.
