Developing talent takes time, and coaches and scouts should focus more on POTENTIAL than on the performance of young players.
Biologically late bloomers need more time, some of them are not ready even at 18-19 years old(not to mention ages 11-12-13).
Today they select at 7-8-9 years old. They select those who "are good".Actually they select those who can win games(usually biologically accelerated).
But if you think about it, selecting children to win a match is the opposite of a developmental strategy (evidence based). So many talk about children's development and when the match comes up those who can't win matches don't play.
But what does it really identify?
Not only does the children's game not belong to the adults(it belongs to the children),but there is no evidence to support the adults ability to make the decision, about who is "best" at an early age.
THERE ARE SO MANY STORIES OF TOP ATHLETES WHO WERE NOT GIVEN A CHANCE WHEN THEY WERE 9-10-11-12 YEARS OLD (BIOLOGICALLY RE****ED OR REPORTS WHERE THEY HAD NO CHANCE TO PERFORM).

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE IS A POOR INDICATOR OF SUCCESS.
EARLY SPECIALIZATION IS A ROAD TO EARLY DEMISE.
WE HAVE TO BE PATIENT AND NOT CLOSE THE DOOR ON SOME KIDS TOO EARLY, BECAUSE WE CAN LOSE VERY GOOD KIDS.
