Cyprus Golf Federation

Cyprus Golf Federation CGF is the official governing body for golf in Cyprus. The Official distance measurement unit of the CGF is the meter (m).

It was formally established in 2000 and is registered with the Cyprus Sports Organisation (KOA) and the Cyprus Olympic Committee (KOE). The CGF is a member of the International Golf Federation (IGF), the European Golf Association (EGA) and is associated with the R&A. As of January 2008 all golf courses in Cyprus have been slope rated according to the USGA/EGA slope rating system and all CGF member

clubs adhere to and use the EGA handicapping system. Golf is still a relatively new sport here. However, a small number of excellent courses are operating and more are planned, both to meet growing on-island demand and the requirements of quality tourism. Given the sport's worldwide popularity and continuing growth, there is absolutely no doubt that it will continue to develop and thrive here to the benefit not only of golfers, but of the Cyprus economy as a whole. We, at the Cyprus Golf Federation are determined to play our part in this process. We hope this site will tell you all you need to know about us and golf in Cyprus.

🏆 European Senior Championships 2026 🏆

What a fantastic week of golf at Elea Golf Club, proudly hosting the European Senior Men’s & Ladies’ Championships in partnership with the European Golf Association (EGA).

Congratulations to all players who competed throughout the week, showcasing outstanding skill, sportsmanship and determination on one of Cyprus’ finest courses.

Day 1 complete at the EGA Championships 2026 at Elea Golf Club. ⛳

A fantastic opening day of competition saw players tested by the challenging layout and excellent course conditions at Elea. With the first round now in the books, the leaderboard is beginning to take shape as we look ahead to another exciting day of golf tomorrow.
