Αυτός είναι ο ιστός που βρίσκεται κάτω από το δέρμα σου ενώ «αντέχεις» άλλη μία αγχωτική μέρα.

Οι «κόμποι» που νιώθεις στον αυχένα και στους ώμους σου δεν είναι απλώς «ευαισθησία» είναι σημεία πυροδότησης (trigger points): μυϊκές ίνες σε συνεχή σπασμό, με μειωμένη κυκλοφορία και ένα νευρικό σύστημα σε διαρκή επιφυλακή.

Ο μυς δεν σφίγγεται χωρίς λόγο. Σφίγγεται επειδή το σώμα έχει καταλάβει ότι πρέπει να προστατευτεί. Από τη στάση του σώματος. Από το στρες. Από την έλλειψη κίνησης. Από την υπερφόρτωση που έχει γίνει ρουτίνα.

Η συχνή θεραπεία μασάζ δεν είναι πολυτέλεια, είναι αυτό που «λύνει» αυτό το μοτίβο στους ιστούς πριν εξελιχθεί σε χρόνιο πόνο, περιορισμένη κίνηση ή εκείνον τον πονοκέφαλο που δεν φεύγει με φάρμακα.
