The XM Limassol Marathon proudly participated yesterday at the International Conference on ‘Sport Tourism as a Driver for Sustainable Development’, organised by the Cyprus Sports Organisation (Κυπριακός Οργανισμός Αθλητισμού - KOA) and held under the framework of Cyprus' Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Bringing together experts, policymakers, and industry leaders, the conference highlights the growing role of sport tourism in driving sustainable growth, strengthening destinations, and creating lasting benefits for local communities.

Comprehensive medical coverage across the route is key to the XM Limassol Marathon.

With ERB ASFALISTIKI, the leading general insurance company in Cyprus and the event’s official Health & Safety Sponsor, a detailed safety plan ensured preparedness and immediate response.

Working alongside Οργανισμός Κρατικών Υπηρεσιών Υγείας - ΟΚΥπΥ, medical teams were stationed throughout the course, supported by a new communication app enabling real-time tracking of where assistance was required.

This coordinated approach helped ensure smooth operations and timely response throughout the event.

Proper coordination is key to the success and safety of the XM Limassol Marathon.

With ERB ASFALISTIKI, the event’s official Health & Safety Sponsor, a comprehensive safety plan ensured preparedness and immediate response throughout the race.

In collaboration with Cyprus Civil Defence and a central coordination center, first aid teams made up of specialized volunteers supervised by certified permanent staff were deployed across the course to provide immediate assistance when needed.

This joint effort reinforced preparedness across all levels of the event.
