And below it? The Zenobia. One of the top 5 shipwrecks in the world sitting right off the coast of Larnaca. 172 metres of history, cargo, turtles in the summer, and details hidden in the rust that most divers never find. She delivers every single time. 🌊🌊🌊

Now that summer is well and truly here, the water is warming up and Cyprus is absolutely the place to be right now. ☀️🇨🇾

Clear visibility, calm seas, warm water, and the Zenobia sitting right there looking as magnificent as ever. 45 years on the seabed and she still turns heads. 🌊🌊🌊

This is peak diving season in Cyprus. The conditions are perfect, the island is stunning, and one of the greatest shipwrecks in the world is waiting just off the coast of Larnaca. There really is no better time to get out here. 😎😎

That first breath underwater is something nobody forgets. The moment everything goes quiet, the surface disappears, and you realise there is an entire world down here that most people never get to see. It stays with you. Forever. 🌊🌊🌊

And Cyprus is the perfect place to experience it for the first time. Warm water, calm seas, incredible visibility. She makes it easy. She makes it magical. 🇨🇾☀️

Do you have a lust for rust? 🤿⛴️

Because I do. And nothing excites me more than when the big dives come around. 😎😎

When someone has put the time in. Done the work. Built the skills. And the moment arrives where I get to take them somewhere truly special on this wreck. Those dives are something else entirely. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

All dives on the Zenobia are great. I mean that. From the very first look at the hull to the drivers accommodation, the cargo decks, the Captain’s Lada. Every single one delivers. 🌊🌊🌊

But there are dives on this wreck that stay with you forever. The ones you earn. The engine room. The auxiliary spaces. The lower cargo deck. The places that most divers never reach because they haven’t put the time in or chosen the right guide. 🤯🤯

Those are the dives I live for. Watching someone float through a space they’ve worked months to get to, taking it all in, and knowing that this moment is going to stay with them for the rest of their diving life. 💪🏽💪🏽

The Auxiliary Engine Room. ⚙️⛴️

This is the one that gets wreck divers genuinely excited. And for good reason. 🤯🤯

Tucked away inside the Zenobia, the auxiliary engine room was the backup power source for the ship. Generators, pumps, electrical systems. The space that kept everything running when the main engines weren’t needed. The heartbeat behind the heartbeat. 🌊🌊

And it is extraordinary in there. 😎😎

Gauges frozen at their last reading. Levers still in position exactly as they were left the day she went down. Switches, dials, control panels, all sitting in complete silence 45 years later. The kind of detail that makes you forget you’re underwater and feel like you’ve just walked onto the bridge of a ship that stopped working yesterday. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Every single gauge tells you something. Every lever was last touched by a human hand in 1980. That’s not just a dive. That’s a time machine. ⚙️⚙️⚙️

But this isn’t a dive you wander into. The auxiliary engine room demands proper buoyancy, solid awareness, and the kind of comfort in the water that only comes from building up to it progressively. Get it right though and it is one of the most rewarding spaces on the entire wreck. 💪🏽💪🏽

Worth every dive it takes to earn it. ⛴️⛴️⛴️

A bumper sticker from a country that no longer exists. 🤯⛴️

That’s what’s waiting for you in the middle cargo deck of the Zenobia. A Lada. Sitting exactly where it came to rest in 1980, still proudly wearing a bumper sticker from Yugoslavia. A country that disappeared from the map in 1992. 🚙🚙

Was it the Captain’s? Nobody really knows. But that’s the story I like best and I’m sticking to it. 😎😎

45 years underwater and it’s still there. Still readable. Still making every diver who finds it stop and just stare. Because whatever the truth is, a car on a shipwreck with a bumper sticker from a country that no longer exists is one of the most extraordinary things you will ever see underwater. 🌊🌊🌊

This is the Zenobia in a nutshell. History, mystery, and details that no briefing card can do justice to. You have to see it for yourself. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
