โœ… Do you often find yourself acting like a โ€œfirefighter,โ€ putting out miscommunication fires instead of doing business?
โœ… Is your sales team stuck and unable to reach the next level of independence?
โœ…Are you all burnt out, with sick leaves becoming a daily occurrence?

โฌ†๏ธ If you answered โ€˜yesโ€™ to any of these, itโ€™s time to consider the contribution of a professional coach or mentor.

I canโ€™t tell you exactly what you need because Iโ€™m not in your head.

2. Avoid a friend or close connection to family or friends.
You need someone independent and unbiased. Professional distance is key. โ˜ ๏ธโ˜ ๏ธโ˜ ๏ธ

3. Avoid pleasers.
Youโ€™re not hiring someone to make everyone happy. You need someone who can help people improve through some hard truths, not an ice-cream seller. โ˜ ๏ธโ˜ ๏ธโ˜ ๏ธ

4. Avoid unkind, harsh personalities.
Your people will hate them and despise you for brining them in. Youโ€™ll make more harm than good. Your team needs a sense of humanity that fosters growth, not fear. โ˜ ๏ธโ˜ ๏ธโ˜ ๏ธโ˜ ๏ธโ˜ ๏ธ

5. Avoid those who promise the moon in 2-3 sessions.
Real, lasting change takes time. Short-term solutions lead to short-term results. โ˜ ๏ธโ˜ ๏ธโ˜ ๏ธโ˜ ๏ธ

You are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and bumps into you or shakes your arm, making you spill your coffee everywhere.
Why did you spill the coffee?
โ€œBecause someone bumped into me!!!โ€
Wrong answer.
You spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup.
Had there been tea in the cup, you would have spilled tea.
Whatever is inside the cup is what will spill out.

In sales, you are holding a sales pitch when a potential client comes along and asks tough questions or challenges your product, making you spill your confidence.
Why did you spill your confidence?
โ€œBecause the client challenged my product!!!โ€
Wrong answer.
You spilled your confidence because there was uncertainty and lack of knowledge in your pitch.
Had there been thorough preparation and understanding in your pitch, you would have handled the challenge smoothly.
Whatever is inside your pitch is what will spill out.

Therefore, when clients come along and challenge you (which WILL happen), whatever is inside you will come out. Itโ€™s easy to appear confident until you face objections.
So we have to ask ourselves... โ€œwhatโ€™s in my pitch?โ€
When sales get tough, what spills over?
Confidence, thorough knowledge of the product, understanding of contract terms, familiarity with processes, and problem-solving skills?
Or doubt, frustration, defensiveness, and lack of solutions?

The sales process provides the pitch; YOU choose how to fill it.
Today letโ€™s work towards filling our pitches with confidence, comprehensive product knowledge, a solid grasp of contract terms and processes, gratitude for the opportunity, resilience, positivity, and genuine concern for the clientโ€™s needs.
