24–27 September 2026. A world championship start line for amateur athletes racing in their age categories.

The official Sprint, Olympic and Aquabike start lists checked on 20 September show 3,321 athletes across 62 countries and territories. Each athlete is counted once across those formats. These are listed athletes, not confirmed starters; lists may change.

FETRI is the Spanish Triathlon Federation, an event co-organiser. The figures above are CyTriHub’s count from official World Triathlon start lists.

Age-group racing puts amateur athletes alongside others in their age category, with separate men’s and women’s results.

For example, if you are 32 on 31 December of the race year, you compete in the 30–34 category. World Triathlon uses your age at the end of the year, rather than your age on race day.

A medal, a personal best or the joy of finishing: your goal can be your own.

Championship entry still depends on the event’s eligibility and qualification requirements, with registration through your National Federation. For Cyprus, start with CyTriFed.

👏 Three featured athletes finished in their age-group top 100: Lorenza Negro, 33rd F40–44; Ekaterina Krainiuk, 57th F35–39; Alexander Marushko, 94th M50–54.

Two-time Olympian, competing at Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004. In 1999, he won the Cyprus Limassol International Triathlon in 1:49:01.

Four race days closed the 2026 Cyprus Triathlon Championships season. 🏁

Paphos Olympic, Mazotos Sprint, Ayia Napa Marina Super Sprint, and Ayia Napa Aquathlon brought fresh podiums, U18 rising names, and movement in the all-time championship rankings.

Ayia Napa Marina delivered the final CyTriFed Championship race day of the 2026 season, with the national aquathlon titles decided across the men's and women's fields. 🇨🇾

In the men's championship, 🥇 Andreas Agathocleous ( .andreas ) 🇨🇾 took the win in 00:33:19, building the race around the fastest combined run legs of the field, 16:05. Behind him, 🥈 Alexandros Nourou ( ) 🇨🇾 and 🥉 Stephanos Nourou ( ) 🇨🇾 made it a strong Konstantia Nautical Club podium presence, finishing 2nd and 3rd in 00:33:59 and 00:34:13.

The men's race was also shaped by the middle swim leg 🌊. Stephanos Nourou led that section in 13:23, with Alexandros just one second behind in 13:24. At the front, Agathocleous then turned the race through the two run legs and finished 40 seconds clear.

In the women's championship, 🥇 Spyridona Charalambous ( )🇨🇾 took the title in 00:41:51. She paired the fastest women's middle swim leg, 16:46, with composed transitions and run legs to stay in control.

🥈 Chrysanthi Konstantinou ( ) 🇨🇾 finished 2nd in 00:44:09, while 🥉 Maria Chrysostomou ( ) 🇨🇾 completed the podium in 00:45:09. Just behind the medals, Chrystalla Kritikou 🇨🇾 produced the fastest combined women's run legs of the race, 20:28, on her way to 4th.

Across both championship races, the day produced 44 finishers: 32 men and 12 women. A strong close to the 2026 CyTriFed Championship calendar. 🏁

Separate from the championship podiums, one open-race performance deserves a clear mention: Michalis Michael ( ) 🇨🇾, already 2nd in the CyTriFed Super Sprint Championship earlier this season, took on the Ayia Napa Aquathlon open race and recorded 00:32:38 - the fastest overall aquathlon time of the day.
