SANTO ANTÃO
One of the most emblematic dives on the Sal Island, mandatory dive spot for all divers.
"Santo Antão" was a 14 crew Cargo ship, built in 1957 by the company CUF - Companhia União Fabril at A.G.P.L Naval Shipyard. - Lisboa.
The ship had an overall length of 53.30m (with a maximum length of 9.02m, draft at 3.35m and draft at 3.63m).

This ship belonged to the General Society of Commerce, Industry and Transport - Lisbon and was registered with the Port of Lisbon on 2 November 1957 under the number H448.

The ship "Santo Antão", wrecked on January 8, 1966 while striking a reef near the coast of the island of Sal.

Today is a wreckage, an artificial reef an habitat for a huge fauna.
One of my favorites.

Um dos mais emblemáticos mergulhos na ilha do Sal, ponto de passagem obrigatório de todos os mergulhadores.O "Santo Antão" era um navio de Carga de 14 tripulantes, construído em 1957 pela empresa CUF - Companhia União Fabril no Estaleiro Naval da A.G.P.L. - Lisboa.
O Navio tinha um comprimento de fora a fora de 53,30m (com boca máxima de 9,02m, Calado à proa 3,35m e Calado à popa 3,63m).

Este navio pertencia à Sociedade Geral de Comércio, Indústria e Transportes - Lisboa, tendo sido registado na Capitania do Porto de Lisboa em 2 de Novembro de 1957, com o número H448.

O cargueiro "Santo Antão", naufragou a 8 de Janeiro de 1966 ao embater num recife perto da costa da ilha do Sal.

Hoje eum monte de destroços, um recife artificial que serve de habitat a uma imensa fauna.
