Serbian-Canadian Forward Aleksandar Zivojin Danilovic (202-F-93) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Pirot, receiving a Eurobasket.com 2MLS Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 21-year old player was the main contributor (32 points, six rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Vojvodina NS ( #6, 11-7) 94-85. Pirot maintains the 3rd position in Serbian 2MLS. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Pirot will need more victories to improve their 14-4 record. In the team's last game Danilovic had a remarkable 81.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Pirot's top player in his first season with the team. Aleksandar Zivojin Danilovic has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (5th best: 18.2ppg) and averages impressive 1.1bpg and 75.5% FGP.
The second best player in last round's games was young Jovan Jovanovic (179-PG-94) of Morava. Jovanovic had a very good evening with a double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds. Of course Morava cruised to a 88-80 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Meridiana NS ( #13, 3-15). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Morava managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 12th place. 14 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Morava managed to get this year. Jovanovic is one of the most experienced players at Morava and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
Third on the list of top players last round was swingman Stevan Tapuskovic (209-F/G-89) of Mladost SP ( #11). Tapuskovic scored 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Despite Tapuskovic's great performance Mladost SP lost 76-92 to slightly higher-ranked Sloboda Uzice ( #10, 7-11). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Mladost SP can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 5-13 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Tapuskovic he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Tapuskovic has individually a great season in Serbia. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.1ppg (6th best).
