Stage 5 was another breathtaking day! it's the final day, which features 51 miles and 6,000 feet of climbing, with 1 final HC climb up to Palmares. The final 400m is extraordinary with one sharp left turn, and then you're faced with a staggering wall of earth that seems like an illusion. It takes every bit of your remaining firepower to get to the top. Those who don't show enough respect to this climb at the bottom find themselves walking at the top.

The views at the top are stunning; we make a refuel stop at our favorite church, and then one final push for home.

Our local crew of Costa Rican riders do an amazing job supporting the event. They guide us, maintain a safe environment on the road, teach us the history of the land, tell jokes, open their homes to us, cook for us, and they are truly the fabric of this event. We are lucky to have such a supportive group! ❤️🇨🇷🚴🏼‍♂️

La Etapa Reina is the "Queen Stage" 👑 we like to keep it loose and fun, because you'll either laugh or cry on this stage 😂 the first 18 miles are brutal, 5200 feet of climbing on a road like you've never seen before. It's exceptional, relentless, tough, and gritty - just like those who choose to conquer it. There are not many roads like this in the world, and the finish at Sacramento, Barva is worth celebrating, and it's something that our athletes will never forget.

What a day, stage 2 of the Pura Vida Cycling Challenge! 83 miles, 10,500 feet of climbing, high humidity and scorching heat 🥵 Reaching the finish line was a major accomplishment today. Our local group of supportive Ticos (locals) guided and supported our athletes the entire way, with their trademark levity, compassion, and charm!

The 2026 Pura Vida Cycling Challenge is upon us! We have collected hundreds of pounds of donated cycling gear for our charity event which will be distributed on March 3rd, after stage 4 (queen stage 👑). All of this gear will be packed up and transported as checked luggage as we arrive in Costa Rica this week for the 5 day event. This gear helps less fortunate communities with a little assistance so they can continue to use their bikes to commute to work, school, and for social and recreational purposes.

Big thanks to all who have contributed to this event, and past events alike! We couldn't do it without the support of , who have been a tremendous sponsor of this event since its inception. As well as the Phoenix Brews Brothers, Pink Group Ride, and hundreds of others behind the scenes who have contributed.

Put this event on your calendar, it's a 5 day humanitarian cycling celebration and it takes place every February in Costa Rica - one of the most magical places on earth to ride a bike. It will challenge you, it will fulfill you, it will connect you, and it will show you what is possible when you ride for a purpose bigger than yourself! 🚴🏼‍♂️🇨🇷🙌🏼🌴🥥

Wow!! Our Pura Vida Charity continues to make a major impact in the lives of others! We were very fortunate to receive this bike as a charitable contribution for our Aug 2025 Pura Vida Cycling Challenge. The bike was donated to our local group of riders at El Bunker, and it was put to use this past weekend at the national time trial championships in Costa Rica. Because of this contribution, this young rider had the opportunity to compete in the race, and rode his way to a bronze medal finish!! Incredible effort, amazing results, and we couldn't be more proud!

The Pura Vida Cycling Challenge is a 5 day event, it will push you past your limits, but you will never be more fulfilled to ride for a purpose bigger than yourself!

Santa came and brought more cycling gear to riders in need! 🎄🙌🏼🇨🇷 Our Pura Vida Cycling Charity continues to make a difference in the lives of thousands. These are riders who use the bike for recreation, work, school, and commuting 🚴🏼‍♂️

Many of them also share the road with us during our annual Pura Vida Challenge event, work as guides, help with safety, and provide sag support. Merry Christmas to the countless individuals and businesses behind the scenes who have helped promote our event for so many years!!

New cycling gear continues to be distributed to riders in need in Costa Rica, from our haul of gear for the event last August. Thank you 🚴🏼‍♂️🌴🥥👍🏼

The heart and soul of our event is the ability to give back and contribute to the very community that supports our athletes! There is nothing like it, breathtaking views, rainforest climbs, fresh coconut drinks, and making a real difference in the lives of others.

Ride with our local team, stop at fruitstands, drink out of coconuts, snack on fresh baked goodies, and connect with this beautiful terrain. Most importantly, we'll contribute new and used cycling gear through our Pura Vida Cycling Charity to the same community that supports this event!
