🚨 "I probably should've stayed home today..." 🚨
There I was, hobbling around with my cane, trying to look like I had my life together while knocking out mystery shops. Most people would've called it a day.
Me? I squeezed 10 mystery shops into less than 4 hours anyway. 😂
One thing I've learned after 15+ years of mystery shopping is that life doesn't always cooperate. Flat tires, bad weather, sore knees, forgotten coffee... somehow the shops still get done.
And honestly? Some of my funniest mystery shopping stories started on days that went completely sideways.

🛒💔 Who remembers Bargain Hunt?
As a mystery shopper, Bargain Hunt was always one of my favorite assignments. There was something fun about walking through the doors, hunting for deals, evaluating the customer experience, and never knowing what treasures I might find. Every visit felt like a little adventure.
Now, seeing these empty buildings is a reminder of how quickly things can change. While Bargain Hunt may be gone, the memories, stories, and mystery shopping experiences are still some of my favorites.

🚨 ENGLISH LESSON FOR REDNECKS 🚨

A friend of mine told me he needed to "clench" his thirst.

I said, "Buddy... I don't think that's the word you're looking for."

So let me explain:

💧 Quench = What happens when you drink something because you're thirsty.

🍑 Clench = What happens when you realize that fart might have bigger plans.

These are VERY different situations.

One requires a cold drink.

The other requires faith, courage, and immediate access to a bathroom. 😂

⚠️ UNPOPULAR OPINION: Adulthood steals your hobbies if you let it.

This weekend, I'm dusting off the disc golf bag and playing in what is usually my ONE tournament of the year. 🥏

There was a time when I played all the time. These days? Between work, responsibilities, and trying to keep all my chaos organized, finding time for the things I love isn't always easy.

But disc golf is one of those things that never really leaves you.

The moment that disc leaves my hand, I'm reminded why I fell in love with this sport in the first place. The challenge. The competition. The fresh air. The excitement of watching a perfect shot fly exactly where you wanted it to go... or watching it hit the very first tree. 😂

Disc golf, martial arts, and softball will always have a special place in my heart, even if I don't get to do them as often as I'd like.

🍽️ Mystery shopping at McAlister's Deli with my favorite shopping buddy... my mom! ❤️

One of the things I love most about mystery shopping is getting to spend quality time with the people I care about. Today, I got to treat both of us to a great meal, complete a mystery shop, and get paid for my time.

Today is his first mystery shop assignment, and frankly, I'm not sure he's taking it seriously. So far he's spent most of his shift staring at people, demanding snacks, and refusing to take notes.
On the bright side, his observation skills seem excellent. On the downside, he may try to fight his own reflection before the report is due. 😂

🚨 I HAVE NO BUSINESS BEING IN THIS PET STORE. 🚨
Let's review the evidence:
🐶 2 French Bulldogs
🐱 2 Cats
🦎 2 Axolotls (Cosmo & Wanda are already expensive enough)
🐸 4 African Dwarf Frogs (The Frog Gang)
🐌 2 Rabbit Snails
🐌 10 Nerite Snails (and an entire HOA of opinions)
🌿 2 new terrarium friends coming soon...
And yet here I am... staring at this little patriotic betta fish like he's Uncle Sam personally drafted me into fish ownership. 🇺🇸🐟
The logical part of my brain says, "Kayla, absolutely not."
The pet-store-addict part of my brain says, "Look at his tiny little face. He already picked you."
So now I'm passing the responsibility to y'all. 😅
