"I wanted to take a few surf lessons while I was in Samara, Costa Rica. I was looking to improve my very basic skills so I signed up for a few lessons at Choco's Surf School. At the beginning of the lesson, I spent a little time with my instructor Choco on land first, so he could get a sense of my abilities, and give me some tips. On the water, with each wave I caught, he critiqued my form (position on the board, how I got to my feet, stance, etc.), and showed me how I could improve. He talked about weight transfer, hand and foot placement on the board, paddling technique, etc., among other things. I found it all really helpful.
As an instructor, Choco was very patient and communicated clearly the info I needed to hear to improve. I'm still a work in progress, but now I have more specific goals and techniques to work on, and it is so much fun to practice! I highly recommend Choco's Surf School. Thanks so much, Choco!
