A veces no nos damos cuenta de lo especial que es algo hasta que ya no está.

Quienes me conocen saben que probablemente no me van a encontrar sentada en la playa viendo el atardecer. Normalmente, a esa hora voy manejando de regreso a casa.

Y con los años, este arco abandonado con grafiti se convirtió en una de mis partes favoritas del camino a casa y en el fondo de algunas de mis fotos más lindas de los atardeceres en Playa Grande.

Ayer pasé por ahí y vi una excavadora derribándolo. Me detuve un momento, tomé una foto y quise recordar este lugar exactamente como se ve hoy.

Así que si pasan por este camino pronto, tómense un momento para mirar alrededor y apreciar la belleza de la naturaleza que todavía lo rodea. Tomen una foto. Tal vez dentro de 20 años se alegren de haberlo hecho.

Sometimes we don’t realize how special something is until it’s gone.

Anyone who knows me knows you probably won’t find me sitting on the beach watching the sunset most nights. Usually, at that hour, I’m driving home.

And over the years, this abandoned arch with graffiti became one of my favorite parts of the drive home and the backdrop to some of my favorite sunset photos in Playa Grande.

Yesterday, I drove by and saw a bulldozer taking it down. I stopped for a moment, took a picture, and wanted to remember this place exactly as it looks today.

So if you drive down this road sometime soon, take a moment to look around and appreciate the beauty of the nature that still surrounds it. Take a picture. Maybe 20 years from now, you’ll be glad you did.
