🎣 ¿Le preocupa la posible implementación de monitoreo satelital (VMS) para embarcaciones de pesca turística y deportiva? Este fue uno de los temas que más inquietudes generó durante una reciente reunión con parte del sector.

La propuesta regional de OSPESCA para el “Plan Regional para la Conservación y Gestión de la Pesca Recreativa de Pez Vela y Marlín en Centroamérica” aún es un borrador y NO está vigente, pero existe oportunidad de enviar comentarios y observaciones.

Su opinión es fundamental para construir una posición representativa del sector en Costa Rica.

Como parte de la celebración de la Semana de Guardacostas, recibimos a jóvenes del Colegio Académico de Londres junto con el IAFA, quienes vivieron una experiencia educativa a bordo de la embarcación Soberanía I, en compañía del equipo de Guardacostas de Quepos 🚤 🇨🇷

Además, tuvieron la oportunidad de recorrer las instalaciones y muelles de Marina Pez Vela para conocer más sobre las operaciones marítimas y el trabajo que día a día impulsa nuestra marina.

Another solid week offshore with sailfish releases, yellowfin tuna hitting the docks, plenty of action out wide, and crews putting in the work every single day on the water. 🌊

The Charter Challenge race is also heating up, with every team continuing to add valuable points and battle their way up the leaderboard week after week. 🏆👀

And while the action keeps rolling, everyone is already looking ahead to Tuna Thunder coming up on June 26th. ⚡🐟

What a phenomenal couple of weeks on the water! Back-to-back action with the Bisbee’s and OWC tournaments made for an unforgettable run—and Team Pura Vida truly made it count.

An incredible season for the team, taking home 1st place across Rockstar, IGFA Open, Bisbee’s, and OWC. Consistency, skill, and serious competitive spirit all the way through.

Special recognition to anglers Aileen Gonzales and Ericka Sandi, who earned Top Angler honors and dominated the IGFA-rule events, winning both the IGFA Open and OWC.

Hello anglers! 🎣 Blake Bisbee here, fresh off an epic week in Quepos with your post-tournament fishing report! 🔥

What a ride at the —the docks were buzzing, the competition was fierce, and offshore action did not disappoint. From the first lines in to the final weigh-in, it was full throttle all the way.

Billfish showed up in style, with steady numbers and nonstop hookups that kept crews dialed in and adrenaline high. Flags were flying, reels were screaming, and every day brought highlight-worthy moments on the water. Conditions played nice, the bite stayed consistent, and Quepos delivered exactly what it’s famous for—world-class sportfishing at its finest.

Massive shoutout to all the teams, crews, and sponsors who made it all happen. Weeks like this are what it’s all about—and once again, Quepos proved why it’s a bucket-list destination for billfish anglers around the globe. 🌍🎣
