Sometimes Pilates is quiet…✨
Our Pilates practice can do a lot for us. It can help us get and stay strong. It can help us recover from an injury. It can help us unwind tight and sore muscles, and perhaps most importantly, it can help us tune into our bodies, the felt sense of being alive, and help us slow down enough to find true restorative presence.
Often times, when we practice at home, we are approaching our time on the mat as an item on our to-do list. Something to get through, check the box, and move on. It’s understandable too! Our lives are full and lists help us manage all the things we are keeping track of!
That is precisely why, when we do get down on our mat, it would serve us to remember that the practice we love so much is more than just a workout or a stretch session, (or an aggressive rolling out 🤣) but rather it is an act of love to ourselves. Our bodies are gateways into the present moment, and being present with yourself is true self care.
Sometimes Pilates is an opportunity to get quiet enough to listen to the wisdom of the body, maybe even the wisdom of your heart
